Pilot Boat Inn – AngleseyGreat food, great service, really friendly staff.Would recommend to anyone
The Nags Head Inn – WrexhamSince it's new owners took over a year or two ago we have been to the Gladstone several times and always had an excellent meal. You'll have to wait a while as the food is cooked from scratch, NOT microwaved! It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. When you book, ask for a table overlooking the sea; the view is superb! The staff are helpful and friendly; they stock local ales and the loos are spotless. (HINT: if you like to know how clean the kitchen of any restaurant is, check the loos first!)
The Gladstone – ConwyI came with a friend on the first day, of the Christmas lunches, and we would thoroughly recommend anyone to this place. The meal was delicious, and they cater for vegetarians as well. There was so much on your plate and the food was lovely and hot. We would love to come again, but cannot find a menu on the computer.
Ffordd Derwen – Rhylagain outstanding food and service,21 of us today, really busy but still all eat together.booked table for 26 on the 18th dec for our Christmas dinner,we are all looking forward to it.well done john and lindsey, see you on the 18th.
Bull Hotel – Abergelebeen here 4 times this year,a very warm welcome by john, and good quality cooking from his wife Lindsey.we have dined at lunch and in the evening,no change to there standards.we are going this weekend aswell,20 of us again, credit due to have that many meals ready at the same time.highly recommend for good quality food and the banter,oh the banter is top. keep it up you two
Bull Hotel – AbergeleAlways had nice food apart from sometimes the roasties are like rubber. Also the queues for the food and the finding a table. This establishment is actually closed till 7 dec as it is getting refurbished, but is a nice place to go.
The Bells Of St Marys – PrestatynI had lunch here this past August with my brother and we both enjoyed our meals amid highly comfortable surroundings. It was our second visit. The prices were most reasonable for an establishment whose décor would be the envy of most other places charging double for a similar fare. If I lived in the immediate area ,I would surely visit the place on a regular basis.
Maenan Abbey Hotel – Betws-Y-CoedWe have just returned after a very nice weekend here. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms clean and comfortable. The food was excellent, well presented and good quality ingredients. I have a wheat intolerance and this was catered for without making me feel uncomfortable. Definitely going to revisit infact my husbands already booked for next year. Wish we lived closer so we could go there for a nice meal more often.
Sychnant Pass House – ConwyVery good fish n chips!..very friendly staff who were quick and efficient. Portion size was excellent too and good value for money. Will visit again when in area :)
Tribells Fish Restaurant – LlandudnoThought we would try a new fish restaurant called Chrissy's in the medieval walled town of Conwy in North Wales last wednesday 28th sept. We are always keen to try new fish restaurants as there just aren't enough around here. Outside there were two chalkboards with various dishes and inside were two further chalkboards on different walls and there was also a menu at the table, so hunting down what you wanted was a bit of a run round, the chalkboards also looked like a five year old had written them. Some olives turned up that were the smallest i had ever seen and warm, some nice brown bread also turned up with some butter that was solid and useless until after we had finished the meal. My wifes starter was a salmon blini which was burnt and didn't look like a blini that we had ever seen before, it looked like a slice of french stick. My starter of Thai fish cakes arrived and to be fair were very nice, only trouble was they were only three the size of 50 pence piece. Main course was seafood Gambo for both of us, two prawns and a scallop, veg and rice. Total rubbish wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Chrissies – ConwyVery friendly. Food is without question the best i've ever had at an Indian restaurant. Not to be missed!
Asia Indian Restaurant – LlandudnoThe Rhos Tandoori was really quite a discovery. Excellent quality, interesting, tasty, reasonably priced food, on a par with some of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten in. If you are in the area give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
Rhos Tandoori – Colwyn BayHad an excellent meal here last week . What was really good was that they understood "glutenfree" and even provided suitable bread and could reassure us about the menu ingredients. Prices very reasonable and good friendly service too .
Chrissies – ConwyStayed here the first weekend of September. Room was lovely and very comfortable. Can't fail to mention the shower which was excellent, full on from the mains not a piddly dribbly electric shower! Bliss! Menue looks fairly simple, but food is tasty and well presented. Breakfast choice is excellent and food is piping hot! Will definitely go again.
The Groes Inn – ConwyThis is one of Conwy's hidden gems. We had a meal here on September 3rd and this was our 2nd visit. The meal was tasty and well presented, and the service excellent. The venue is a very simple cafe type place but the food is delicious. Best to book in advance at weekends to avoid disappointment.
Amelies Restaurant – ConwyTucked away off the main roads, this restaurant is most highly recommended. Interesting menu, adventurous without being pretentious. Beautifully cooked food, superbly presented, friendly staff, good atmosphere. I would have liked my portion of (exquisite) lamb to have been 50% larger, but that won't deter me from a return visit.
The Tannery – Betws-Y-CoedI have had the pleasure of eating at Chrissie's Kitchen a couple of times now and can honestly say I've enjoyed everything I've eaten there. I highly recommend the Medieval Pork Ragu which is truly a taste sensation. Like Christmas on a plate. The staff are friendly and welcoming and they carry a good stock of quality wines to choose from.
Chrissies – Conwy2 courses, £22; 3 courses, £27, served at 5pm or 5.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
1 course, £18; 2 courses, £23, 3 courses, £28. Served 12pm-3pm Sundays.
