Hotel Wrexham – WrexhamSunday roast is really good value , plenty on the plate , nice pub and excellent service from very friendly staff.
Royal Oak – WrexhamAlways have a great meal here. My favourite place to eat locally. Good service even when they are busy.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthSunday lunch was very good. We had the lamb and it was very tasty and cooked to our taste. The vegetables were done just right. We liked the atmosphere and staff were very efficient. Would definitely recommend.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe came to the victoria inn for food for fathers day while we were staying in barmouth. We were not disappointed the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was great. The food was delicious, we had a mixture of meals (sunday dinners, pie and steak) and all were hot and full of flavour. We will definitely be returning when we're next at barmouth.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthNew early bird menu - fabulous as always!
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogLovely food, served with care in a a beautiful room.
The Old Courthouse – CaernarfonWell, there aren't enough positive adjectives to describe our recent experience on 13th June 2024 at Y Sgwar. The service was top notch. It was quick, efficient, nothing too much trouble and very friendly staff. The environment had great decor and was a pleasant surprise. From the outside it doesn't look much, but inside the room was well decorated, the tables had enough space between them, there was a welcoming comfortable seating area as you walked in. The lighting was ambient and it was warm without being uncomfortably so. The food was great value for money. We all chose the duck with a most gorgeous plum jus, puree and vegetables in the cost (not extra). I could, however, have chosen at least another 5 or 6 mains. What made it even better were that almost all the meals were gluten free, which for my Mum who has no choice in this, was heaven. So many eating establishments offer may be one or two GF options. Had we found this place sooner, we would have been there every night. Local ingredients, cooked well, just the right portion size and delicious! One Welsh word sums it up: ardderchog excellent).
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogBwyd yn ardderchog a y gwasanaeth hefyd, lle cartrefol iawn .
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe visited, a party of 4, on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was full. The food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful. One person has Coeliac Disease (me!) and it was so good to have such a wide range of suitable dishes to choose from. My main course was duck, beautifully presented with a swirl of butternut squash puree, a delicious portion of dauphinoise potatoes and a tasty plum sauce. I had asked for the accompanying greens to be soft as I don't like crunchy vegetables and they were perfect. Everyone was pleased with their choices and we all wished we could return but were only in the area for one night.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe were welcomed like old friends; seated at the window table, overlooking the castle. Our host recommended drinks , in particular the Bundaberg non-alcoholic ginger beer for the driver, and then provided the menu. We elected to have the smoked salmon, the carpaccio and the soup of the day (butternut squash) all were delicious. Our main courses were ribeye steak, cooked to perfection (rare), sea bass with an artichoke salad and the beef cottage pie. All beautifully presented and again delicious. We finished the meal with affogato, crème brûlée and warm chocolate brownie. All-in-all a delightful evening, a superb location and a charming affable host. If I lived in or near Caernarfon The Bench would be a regular haunt. Thank you.
The Old Courthouse – CaernarfonOur 3rd time to date. Food beyond exceptional a very talented confident chef. Food choice is great for everyone carnivores to vegan. By far the best quality of food in GWYNEDD! A very friendly welcome by all the team, who provide fantastic service nothing is too much trouble. Again a rarity in this area. Don't hesitate to visit, we will be returning soon. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogA gem of a seafood restaurant within the walls of Conwy. Lovely atmosphere, food, service and wine selection. Took my friend to experience its magic and she agreed! I’ll be back.
Telfords Bistro – ConwySecond sitting Sunday lunch. Couple. Great service and we both ordered the same: roast lamb followed by sticky toffee pudding. All up to the usual high standard except sadly the lamb meat which was tough and grisley- most unusual as we are frequent flyers at YS.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe had a Sunday lunch. The food was fabulous. The staff were excellent. Would highly recommend. Excellent value for money.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogEverything was fabulous thankyou!
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe chose here for our anniversary meal. A lovely venue, couldn't have chosen better, we had the window table overlooking the castle. A great meal, we each had the rib eye which was excellent, very tender and flavoursome. Great staff, great meal, lovely surroundings. Highly recommended. Thank you.
