We had two fantastic meals here, the first of the early bird the second time we went A La Carte menu. Staff were brilliant friendly and welcoming Highly recommend you visit if you are in the area.

Top quality food in a lovely setting. Service was very good to match the food. Presentation was excellent,Would highly recommend to anyone staying within a 20 mile radius.

What an absolute hidden gem. Simply delicious food, both in presentation and taste. (We have never tasted meat so tender). The live entertainment - brilliant! Attention to detail and cleanliness was faultless. The proprietor has put so much into making this an altogether wonderful venue. They deserve to do really well. We had such a Lovely evening.... A delightfully relaxed restaurant - fine dining but with plenty of sides for those who like more bulky portions. Terrific food overall. Friendly and efficient staff. One lady is a musician, primarily a cellist, and a specialist in musical theatre, who quietly entertains diners with gentle standards on the piano. A really good experience.

Not very impressed, we booked in advance and when we arrived were given a table number so had to look through the rooms to find our place Was told at the bar there was no roasts left, the menus was uninspiring sorry to say.

The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and we travelled 300 miles to see if it was a s good as recommended. It was! Food was excellent and when we are next in the vicinity we will certainly visit. My wife isa vegetarian and said the vegetable wellington was the best ever. Sauce with the sea bass delightful.

Superb Meal. Food was delicious and way above the standard Pub Fayre. The staff were very accommodating, changing our reservation time. A very nice Pub with lovely decor and a relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely recommend to any friends in the area.

Visited twice, once you’ve tasted the lamb on the early bird menu, you have to go back and sample the rump on the al a carte. Top quality as were the scallops. The wife had muscles starter and the sauce on them was to die for, I had a taste and I must say this chef knows how to make a sauce and gravy. Wife had the Sea bass, and again, top of the class. All done in a friendly atmosphere, and great service.

First time dining at Y Sgwar. Friendly service, super food. We had tempura prawns, mussels, rump of lamb and the duck breast special. Great portions, beautifully cooked. No surprise David and Lorraine maintain their restaurant's reputation for so many years - the car and effort is apparent. Looking forward to going back!

Had early bird meal at YSgwar on Saturday. Could not rate the meal, atmosphere or staff highly enough. The food was exceptional and the service excellent. Thank you so much We will be back again very soon PS The Sunday lunch is the BEST

Excellent in every way yet again!

Just superb! We had a celebratory 60th birthday meal here whilst on holiday. The food was served quickly, with efficiency whilst being friendly. The standard of food served was very high with wonderful favours and cooked to perfection Would strongly recommend for a meal to celebrate a very special occasion.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great service and superb food. Settings is fresh, bright and airy. Visited Friday evening, booked again for Sunday evening. 5 star.
