Valley Cantonese, Rawtenstall

Went to this restaurant with my boyfriend on Friday night for an impromptu bite to eat. It was pretty busy which is always a good sign. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, though ordered too much which is easy to do as the menu sounds so nice! The scollops to start were cooked perfectly. The prices are set right. Only one minor complaint, the wicker baskets which hold the free prawn crackers on arrival need changing for something more hygienic. There was an accumulation of cracker dust stuck between the gaps in the bowl which put us off slightly. Maybe a stainless steel bowl would be better.

i went here for my works nite out on 9.05.2008, i found the service was great from start to end, there was a massive party of us and this did not effect the standard, i would definitely recommend this restaurant to any body who wants a good night out for fantastic value.
Nicks Restaurant, Bolton

I've been to Nicks several times, mostly to celebrate mine and my families birthdays. Every meal I've eaten has been excellent. I went for my 30th last year and my Grandma and friends who joined me had never eaten there before. They said it was the nicest meal they had ever had! I am never disappointed at Nicks and would recommend anyone who wants a fantastic meal in a lovely restaurant to go there for a lovely night out!
Craven Heifer, Clitheroe

My wife, small son (6) and mother and father in law and myself visited the Craven Heifer at Chaigley on Sunday 11 May 08 for lunch. It was a glorious day, showing the venue off in it's picturesque setting. It was quiet when we arrived and the kitchen had run out of gas (liquid propane). Nevertheless most items on the menu were available. We were pleasantly greeted and made to feel welcome. A table had been reserved for us in the dining area near a large window. The menu, although limited, was quite adequate and 3 Roast lunches (Beef),1 Fishermans Pie and 1 Steak & Ale Pie were ordered plus 3 soups (Cauliflower). The accompanying vegetables were served 'Al dente', they were fresh and had plenty of taste. The table service, although a little erratic, was done pleasantly enough. We all had pudding and the choices on offer, although decadent, were very tempting. I cannot in all honesty fault the meal, it was excellent. If I had a criticism at all it would be that the interior of the dining room lacked the 'class' that is usually associated with an establishment serving food of this quality. More precisely, the tables and chairs were a bit of a 'hotch potch' insofar as they were not all matching. Some may consider that this adds to the countryside ambience, but I disagree. However it is purely a personal opinion, and does not prevent me from recommending this excellent eating place to anyone who enjoys good food.

I recently had my birthday celebration meal at the Sparling. I have to say it was fantastic. The service was good even though it was very busy and the food was brilliant. Everyone had something different and all were completely satisfied. Keep up the good work. Will definitely recommend to all.
Sottovento Ristorante, Bury

This is the third occasion I have been to Sottovento and the occasion was as always excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and staff are very attentive to every detail and every need. The food was amazing, steak, cooked to perfection, pork with saffron, colourful and mouth watering and not forgetting "Penne Salmone e Vodka" absolutely gorgeous. Well worth the visits time after time. The specials of scallops, monkfish and sea bass, fresh, tasty and will please any seafood enthusiast. Excellent value for money. Must visit!!!

Held 50th birthday function here this weekend and was very impressed by the level of service and the standard of the food. Everything was cooked to a fantastic standard and was hot. The staff were all very pleasant and many of our guests have said they will return. No hesitation recommending this eatery.
