The Railway
The Railway, Chorley(Recommended by Minnie)

The railway Gastro Pub. Euxton near chorley has great food. We went on a Monday evening and got half price steaks. I had a rump steak with real chips finished in dripping plus all the trimmings for just over £8. Sweets are delicious -try summer pudding its divine. All the staff were smiley, friendly and very helpful,, nothing was too much trouble. You need to book a table it gets packed.

good food, and good value for money, we did the early bird menu and would say that it did not compromise on quality

Sloan's Bistro, Accrington(Recommended by C)

This place has a unique vibe to it. It's like an authentic French bistro. Quirky, rustic and intimate. The food was excellent and has an Italian influence. Its next door to an antiques shop in the village of Sabden.

Ramsons
Ramsons, Ramsbottom(Recommended by Chef D)

Had an amazingly simple but tasty & flavoursome meal in The Hideaway. I absolutely love the concept of turning up & being fed while drinking GREAT wines. I just wish this place was closer to us so one of us didn't have to drive

North Street Indian Restaurant, Rawtenstall(Recommended by Clazas)

Went for a meal here at 7pm on a thurs, found this place quite a shock, I thought it would be run of the mill Indian but when you go in there is a lovely relaxing bar whilst you wait for meal, and the decor in the the restaurant is beautiful, the staff couldn't do enough for us, and much to my amazement there was an offer on £9.95 for any starter, main and a pilau rice from 4pm till 7pm up to thurs and up to 6pm sat and Sunday. How many Indian do deals at weekend. The food was fantastic absolutely delicious, and cause it was a large portion I was full so I asked if I could keep the rest of it to take home, the manager put it in a tub to take home and also put an extra free pilau rice in for me to have another meal. It was great from start to finish seriously think you should try this one.

The Continental
The Continental, Preston(Recommended by Hypercat)

We've eaten here a few times now and its probably the nearest Preston gets to a decent gastropub. Lovely outside beer garden and the pub gets very busy during summer. Really good atmosphere and relaxed surroundings, great range of continental beers and a knowledgeable and friendly staff get meals off to a good start. Belgium fruit beers on tap as well as good real ales and a superb bottled beer selection. Top marks for the range of non-alcoholic Fentimens drinks and a choice of dealcoholized beer for drivers. Portions are large, nicely presented and the chef clearly has masterchef aspirations. For a light meal a starter will certainly suffiice. A goats cheese and baked beetroot tartlet resembled an impressionist work of art and was delicious. Ditto the smoked chicken salad. The 4 hour slow cooked belly pork is fantastic and a personal favourite although you won't be able to fit in a sweet and starter with it. Sweets are mini works of art - there can't be that many chefs as nifty with the sugar basket work. Only criticism is that the interesting menu leaned a bit towards autumnal hearty choices throughout the summer and a large proportion of the dishes seemed to be accompanied by the veal stock boulangere potatoes. (Nonetheless they are very tasty). Great to have a place where you get the sense that the chef's heart is genuinely in the food, it is made on the premises rather than coming out of a freezer and that offers a genuinely interesting choice.

Halay, Horwich(Recommended by Mark & Wendy)

Went last night for the first time. Was very dubious as there was only one other group in, but then again it was Sunday night! Shouldn't of worried, this place blows the socks of all the other places in Horwich, and we've tried them all!! Food was outstanding, super clean and tables that don't touch each other, which makes a refreshing change. The couple that run this place are great people, don't rush you, they just want you to enjoy your evening. We sat talking to them for about an hour afterwards and they are really nice genuine people. Will be back for more, especially the Turkish night with the belly dancer!

Dined here recently on a Sunday. Three courses for £9.99, you can't really beat that. Food quality was excellent, service a little slow but the waitress's were busy. Will certainly be going back !
