Haven Arms, Hull

Out on the edge of town in a peaceful setting. Almost 200 years old, at the junction of several footpaths. Loads of parking space and no through traffic. Tables out in front of the pub and a covered patio area at the back. Bar has lots of nooks and crannies with pool, darts and TV. Five well kept cask ales and the usual lagers etc. Restaurant does cabaret at most weekends and food is served from 12 noon to 9pm, every day. Sunday's is a carvery with a choice of 3 roast meats & fresh vegetables. This is a pub for all the family - a real jewel.

We went to fennel on 23rd July 2008, we didn't reserve a table and were lucky to get in. The service was fast and professional the menus were fantastic and the food was a very high standard. Both myself and my friend are chefs who work around the country we are very hard to please so i can recommend Fennel to everyone as a restaurant to try.

The best espresso to be had in the whole of Leeds, they've won awards for it! Guaranteed smiley service and lots of home made cakes to go with.

The ambiance was great, we had forgotten the time of the meal that we were still in Leeds. The food is very nice, we could taste every spice. I highly recommend.

Took my daughter for a Sunday lunch and it was delicious and, for her, free (she's under 10). The roast lamb was succulent and the mashed potato was a revelation to my daughter. Not knowing the opening hours we arrived fairly late in the day but the staff were very friendly and did everything to accommodate us. The puddings were great too and the chef took time out of the kitchen to explain what a panacotta was, and it was lush. Its a hidden gem in a beautiful part of Leeds. We'll definitely go back.

I went to the restaurant recently and my partner and I had a wonderful experience. Food, wine and service was top notch. Nino the owner was very chatty warm and generous. For the quality of the food we thought the bill was very reasonable. will be back soon!
Medici Restaurant, Hull

Medici restaurant is a hidden gem!!! It belongs in London or at least in a big city where it would have people queuing down the street, seven days of the week!! It offers an extensive menu boasting everything from excellent Italian pizza to michelin star quality dishes. Whats so great about Medici is that you can take your kids for a discounted quick bite( before 7pm) or bring your boss/company director to impress whilst dining in a sophisticated yet warm and welcoming atmosphere. The local residents need to appreciate how lucky they are having such a restaurant on their doorstep. By far one of the best restaurants in Yorkshire. Take my advice and go. you wont be sorry!!!
