Tri-Nant Fly and Course Fishery – PontyclunThis hotel was a great disappointment - the service from the staff members was down right rude and I very unhelpful. I thought it was very pricey for the quality of the hotel and service received. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Llechwen Hall Hotel – PontypriddExcellent food and very cheap when considered in terms of quality of the food and variety of dishes provided.
Y Polyn Restaurant – CarmarthenExcellent food, Excellent Service, good prices.
India Gate, The – CardiffMy favourite thing to eat there is The almighty New York Club baguette, jam packed with 4 amazing fillings each complimenting each other with different textures and flavours. You must try one of these bad boys !
Sandwiched in the City – Cardiffsimple , two words . . . . . GO THERE ! ! !
Sandwiched in the City – CardiffThis is my absolute favourite place for lunch, snacking, or just simply chilling out. i would recommend this cosy little cafe to anyone , the staff are friendly and extremely helpful and in my experience i have found that they will go the extra mile for you . if you are in the area stop in for a quick bite and a delicious creamy hot coffee , you won't regret it !
Sandwiched in the City – CardiffGreat food and a good selection of well kept beers. Superb service and quality of food. The new landlord of the place seems to be really making a go of it and getting back the community pub atmosphere whilst creating the sort of restaurant feel that makes you want to take a special drive out to enjoy.
Fox and Hounds – BridgendUnder new management, young ambitious and very hard working in getting the place back to it's former glory, and creating and cooking good food in good sized portions. Great olde worde atmosphere, no loud juke box music,(always good to see) with a great homely atmosphere and well kept beers.
The Carne Arms – CowbridgeAfter living in South London for 18 years, Ive had my fair share of good and bad food. The Shed in Porthgain is one of the finest fish restaurants that I have ever eaten in and that includes Rick Steins! Great food, good sized portions, magnificent and friendly staff, but only a small number of seats so you must book in advance.
The Shed – HaverfordwestThis was the venue for my best friend's wedding on 29/09/07 and I cannot emphasise enough to anyone thinking of getting married here. Think again. The service throughout was appalling, room bookings were messed up on the day so that the bride ended up without anywhere to get ready, they overcharged guests, the staff on reception were rude and obnoxious and worst of all had little idea of how to operate a simple booking system. They also forgot numerous things on the day like putting music on whilst the bride walked down the aisle, flowers for mother of the bride etc. The service was thoroughly awful.
Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and Country Club – MonmouthSunday Lunch with music was a relaxed gastromonic feast. Welsh Roast Beef and Salt Marsh Lamb of the highest quality, cooked to perfection with presentation to match. I was certainly not on my own in this opinion as Illtud's was packed - families old and young, people celebrating and those who just love good fresh produce. The music was an added bonus so check if this is planned for your next Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.
Illtuds 216 – CowbridgeIndian cuisine at its best very welcoming and mannered superb selection vegetarian duck seafood and many more
Mango House – MonmouthThey have only started doing meals since May 2007 and the new tenants have made it a very friendly and inviting atmosphere, food and service excellent would recommend.
Church Inn – BlackwoodThe Pub is re-opening on Saturday 6th October under new ownership. The pub will also be doing food and children welcome. Try it out and see what you think?
Castle Inn, The – NewportAS quiet little resiedential pub, just out of the heart of town, but with a heart of it's own. The girls there are lovely and the food is definitely recommended. Fantastic price and quality.
Greenfield Inn, The – LlanelliNice owners - family run. Very chatty!! The food was nice and the price was very good. 2 meals for £6.50. I had steak which I was surprised to see on there. And the specials board was very enticing - I would recommend it.
Greenfield Inn, The – LlanelliGroup booking there on Saturday for my hen do and couldn't fault it. Just enough food and tasty as normal. If I had to find fault it was that they didn't clear the empty glasses very often!
