Great food, good atmosphere although music not needed. Be aware of ‘ complimentary shots’.

Lovely food & great service! Would recommend. Need a few fans dotted around when the weather is hot but thats just an observation rather than a complaint.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at Cafe de Paris on our wedding day. Having tried to call multiple times in the lead up to the booking (trying to book a table for 10), we ended up booking two tables of 5. I still tried calling after booking online, to confirm that it was supposed to be a table of 10, and left multiple messages explaining the situation, but no one got back to me (despite the promise to on their voicemail message). So, having got married at 10am and rushed to Cafe de Paris, admittedly half an hour late as the ceremony ran over (however I also tried calling multiple times on the way to the cafe but, unsurprisingly, to no avail), we were then told that they didn’t have two tables together apart from upstairs (someone had just sat on one which could have been avoided had my telephone calls been answered). We agreed that this was fine and were just thankful to be sat together ready to enjoy our breakfast. However, at 11:05, one of the waitresses came to deliver the news that breakfast finished at 11:00 so we could only order off the lunch menu but that wasn’t back on until 12:00, so it would be after then when we got our food. This was really disappointing and due almost entirely to poor communication/ service on the day. I can’t comment on the food or value for money but this was definitely poor service and the atmosphere upstairs was non-existent. We ended up leaving and going to Navio Lounge who gave us (the bride and groom) our breakfast on the house and went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Great service and lovely atmosphere, we really enjoyed our evening. My main, the seafood claypot was a little overcooked and very tomato swamped. Everything else was brilliant

We had a lovely meal on Friday, thank you for delicious food, also thank you for creating welcoming atmosphere, all in all very enjoyable evening. Thank you all who helped to make it a special evening.

On Saturday evening after a concert at St Mary’s Church I took a party of 30 to the Egerton Astbury Everyone choose there own Menu, it was fantastic, food, ambiance d superb staff Highly recommend Dorothy

This an amazing pub, we had never been before but certainly will be coming again. The food was very good, the unicorn bitter was spot on. The desserts where fantastic. Staff was lovely. Thank you to all.

Nine of us plus 3 dogs were in the snug room by the front door, it was perfect as we didnt have to keep the dogs under the tables to stop them bothering other visitors. Food was excellent as was the service from very well trained friendly, helpful staff. We love it there

We recently ate at the alvanley arms , it's a beautiful country pub with a nice seating area outside , the food was lovely ,all fresh and piping hot the cheese and onion pie is unreal ,everything everyone had in our group enjoyed it ,couldn't fault it and the service was also spot on .

Excellent food served and variety of good choices on menu. Staff very friendly and efficient . Very good vs.ue for money . Well worth a visit to try this nice venue tucked away in Whitegates

Great afternoon tea yesterday. Service was really good and attentive without being overly done. Food and fizz were lovely and the setting is just perfect. Thank you...amazing value.

My friend and i visited The Plough on Chippy Tuesday. We both had Scampi, Chips and Mushy Peas. Food was excellent and fantastic value at £10! The staff were very friendly and service was great ecen though they were busy.
