Return visit and chose the same dishes as they were soooo lovely last time. Didn't disappoint. Accompanying red wine was perfect. Service excellent and friendly but not intrusive. A great Thursday evening. Highly recommend.

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had the privilege of eating at The Pheasant twice whilst we had a winter break in Keswick. We had booked for Sunday lunch and arrived early so we could enjoy a drink at the bar. My husband enjoyed both the Pheasant ale and the Wainwrights. Our lunch was out of this world, beautifully cooked chicken, masses of vegetables, creamy mash potatoes as well as roast and Yorkshire pudding with plenty of gravy. We came back a few days later and had an evening meal, my husband gammon filled the plate and had 2 freshly cooked eggs, I ordered the venison bourguignon couldn’t believe how much venison I was served. It was tender and the sauce was rich. We were also served a bowl of well cooked hand cut chips and a plate of vegetables, On both occasions we were greeted warmly, service friendly and the food outstanding.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent night, lovely new place!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleExcellent food and service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat Xmas menu! Lovely atmosphere, brilliant staff! Will be back again soon!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAnother beautiful lunch at Sage and Vine yesterday for my fiancees birthday. We had the bread and dips followed by 3 small plates. The belly pork is to die for and the dips are amazing. Definitely our favourite and the best restaurant in Carlisle.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe ate here for the first time last week, and the food was amazing and well priced for the decent portion sizes. We had the Seabass and Chicken which were both delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient too. Unfortunately they had completely run out of their famous cheesecake due to closing the next day for the winter, but that just means we'll have to return!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBooked a table for 6 on Saturday 30/11/24 we was the only ones there. I was quite shocked because the food was the best in the village and so was the service a little gem of a place.Already booked for New Year’s Eve.John
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereWe love Lewis's and keep coming back. Always have great food, in a lovely atmosphere. Well priced. Wine selection is good, and well priced too. Our last visit was for a girls catch up. We had a lovely evening thank you. Enjoy your well deserved holiday.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereMy husband and I stayed overnight getting the midweek special which is bed breakfast and £50 towards your evening meal. Everything was spot on, the room was lovely, the meal was delicious and breakfast was great. The staff were very pleasant and helpful especially Callum who greeted us and served us breakfast. Thankyou, we will return.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFantastic food and great service as always. Never had anything other than an excellent experience here.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe went to Lewis’s for my husband’s birthday treat. We had never been before. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal . I had the stuffed chicken breast and my husband had the lamb. Both delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. Our only criticism - only an observation- was that the layout was a bit formal- a few plants and pictures would add more ambiance. Will definitely go back though.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereCome to Keswick a couple of times a year. Found the Pheasant Inn a couple of years ago and i believe it serves the best food in Keswick. I have eaten in most places in Keswick but not many can compare with the quality of food and drink. It has a great atmosphere and the service is excellent. Will definitely be back when back down in January for my birthday. The food is also great value for money compared to other eateries in the town. It's a popular place and worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment. It has an old charm feel and homely.
