La Mezzaluna – CarlisleEasy to use website with booking facility. Fantastic meal, lovely food and drink served in the upstairs restaurant and looked after by an attentive and professional Team, great atmosphere and good price. Close to bus routes, local pubs and cinema. A pleasant evening
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe prebooked and had the table from 6.15 till 8pm which was plenty enough time. The food was absolutely amazing. We had garlic mushrooms & cheesy garlic bread for starters. For mains the fillet steak and rack of lamb, all of which were cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were fab and the staff were very friendly and attentative in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended and we will 100% be back again!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was nice. The space was fairly empty, despite being told it would be very busy and it was a bit 'soulless' and lacking in atmosphere. We were 'managed' well by one waitress, who was in rather a rush to take our orders. We didn't stay for dessert, as felt they were a bit pricey starting at £7.50. It's always nice to get a wee treat when it is someone's birthday, but none was forthcoming, despite telling the waitress.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithBeen trying to eat here for a while and it was really worth the wait. Lovely food and service for my partners 40th
Pheasant Inn – KeswickI opted for this venue after reading many good reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint. Despite it being a weekend at the beginning of half term we were welcomed with warmth and seated quickly. The food was superb and the atmosphere was lovely, unfortunately due to being short staffed, they were closed the next two nights otherwise I wouldn't have hesitated to book for the next evening. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in Keswick!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe visited Kats Kitchen on Saturday night it was a lovely experience. The food and the service was fab and Kat even shared one of her recipes with me.
Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickFood excellent. Great pub with plenty of character. Staff very attentive, polite and professional.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood was lovely and plenty of it. The service was a tad slow but when staff did come to table they were very pleasant. The atmosphere was good although they would benefit from a mobile card machine, as the bar area was quite full and would have liked abit more room and privacy whilst using my card. It was lovely to sit by the open fire and our three year old grandaughter also loved it too. Always a friendly welcome .
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeEnjoyed a wonderful relaxing evening at Lewis’s Bistro. We found the service to be excellent ,friendly helpful and even spent a moment or two at the table having a general conversation. Food served in good time and all our dishes were fresh, well Cooked and tasted delicious. Menus available to view before booking as well
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat food & excellent service as always
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had a lovely meal On Saturday. Service was very good as was the food. We will be back soon x
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had a lovely meal at Mezzaluna last night, it was perfect, the staff were amazing and attentive, we will definitely return.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleBooked in on a very busy Saturday evening, but the food didn't take long to come and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely return.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a lovely spa experience and then... On entering the hotel for our prosecco and scones what a fiasco. The tables were all full, we waited for an hour before we were served (we did have comlimentary drinks), we ate in the reception area in the end, just so we could have our food. When the food did arrive, it was lovely. The bar man was fantastic, but rushed off his feet, and he did the best he could in the circumstances. I think the overall organisation of the whole thing was a disaster.
The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsExcellent food, service and lovely staff
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent food and service. Every course was delicious finished with a lovely cake for my sons 18th birthday.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithHave been to the Pheasant several times before for meals and always enjoyed it there and recommended it to many people. On this occasion our experience was disappointing. We booked for the reopening night 8th Feb. 2023 and arrived for our allotted time and were shown to our reserved table. This table was probably the worst in the whole pub. Firstly I had to move the table and chairs and a large potted plant to be able to sit down so that should have been a warning but at that stage ok. As the night went on though things became more dire. The table was right next to the staff opening into the bar so as things became busier there was a constant stream of staff mulling behind our table. The cutlery, dishes and other items were all located here so it was constantly noisy. Staff were in and out to collect items, pour drinks, answer the busy phone etc. This completely spoiled the ambience and atmosphere of what should have been an enjoyable night out. Our starters were good but the steak pies we had were spoilt and nothing like what we have had on previous visits. The pies arrived on plates completely drowned in the gravy { jus} so much so, that the pie crust had disintegrated into a soggy mess. The rest of the meal was ok but obviously spoilt by the soggy pie. I know we could have said something at the time but it was reopening night and busy and the staff were doing the best to serve everybody. If we ever return we will make sure that we are not sitting in the small back room at the rear of the bar. As we were leaving and walked into the main area it was a different world. Lovely set out, fires burning, light and airy and plenty of space and atmosphere.
