A lovely restaurant with amazing views over the estuary visible through the floor to ceiling windows. The service was amazing but even that was surpassed by the food. The choice in this restaurant was excellent, both for a carnivore like me and my vegetarian partner in all courses. The food arrived promptly and was expertly presented and tasted marvellous. After dinner, we went into the very cosy bar and snuggled up in front of the roaring log fire. All in all, this restaurant is probably not for anyone looking for a cheap, quick bite but for a romantic, memorable evening, you would absolutely not be disappointed

Nice atmosphere, wasn’t aware was dog friendly. Staff were friendly, took a while to be able to pay the bill when we were ready to Leave but they were busy. Food was nice and fairly priced. Good choice of menu

Lovely cosy pub with nice fire. We both had the beef pie with chips and veg. Pie was lovely as were the chips. Gravy was loaded with dried thyme which was very overpowering and didn’t taste nice at all. Just hearty beef gravy would have been nicer.

Great service delicious food. Four of us had a meal and no complaints from anyone. We will be back.

A great day at the Netherwood , a lovely impressive hotel and setting. The spa was lovely , relaxing and the lunch was delicious with attentive service. Our table was reserved with a name card, next to the roaring fire. A very enjoyable day out. We will come back and hopefully will stay overnight at the hotel.

It was a very busy Saturday evening so service was a little slow but the food was fantastic. We would definitely come again.

We visited here last night and the whole experience was absolutely amazing, we were staying in langdale and booked here having liking the look of the menu, and the food did not disappoint! Can not fault it, the service was ten out of ten all the staff were super friendly and the service was quick, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting quality food and a nice quiet friendly atmosphere.

The whole day was brilliant and we couldn't fault with anything at all. The spa experience was different and really enjoyable, the meal and service were perfect. Thank you for a lovely day.

Best rack of lamb my husband had ever had and my steak was really tasty. Waitress was very helpful. Only criticism is that is was so cold inside, especially if you are sat in line with door to toilets, that both myself and the two ladies either side of me had to wear our coats whilst eating.

Wow we were so pleased with our meal. We had the beef pie and the chicken/leek/ ham pie (on the specials board) and it was sooo tasty!

Gorgeous meal and well priced

It was very nice and relaxing there the service was amazing. I had the steak and so did my partner and it was soo nice. I was originally going to have the chicken as I saw it on the online menu but when I came to the actual menu at the restaurant it had been changed to something else which was disappointing. But all in all it was a very nice Valentines evening!

Whenever we are in the Lake District we make a point of going to the pheasant, even when It means going out of our way to do so. Always superb food at excellent prices with a warm welcome, what more can you ask for ?

Great thai menu very fresh and delicious

Had a really lovely valentines meal at The General Burgoyne. There was a warm welcome and a high standard of service. The food was amazing. I am gluten free and don't eat meat but that wasn't a problem. We will definitely be paying another visit soon.

We visited for a weekend evening meal, real fire, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent food at a fair price - will definitely return.
