Searched on Google for nice place to eat and the Pheasant Inn came up so booked a table but went out for a few drinks before and was very tempted to cancel booking and eat in one of the pubs we had visited. So glad we didn't ordered the Roast Beef Sunday Lunck Wow it was one of the best Sunday Dinners from a Pub that I have ever had absolutely beautiful. Great little pub friendly staff and just a all round cracker can't recommend enough. Well done for a great service

Took care of our Sunday lunch . Visiting the area for a few days to celebrate a big B.day. Chicken was more than ample and beautifully cooked, veggies were spot on and comes highly recommended. 4*/4*

Lovely different afternoon tea in a quirky setting. Highlights were the soup in the glass bottles and the fabulous scones.

Another very pleasant evening last night in the Wheatchief. Nice atmosphere great service and very very good value for money food. Been several times recently and hopefully many more evenings to come.

This was our second visit to the restaurant. On both occasions the food was excellent and the service very friendly and efficient. There was a good atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome.

Had a meal last night, have eaten here many times never been disappointed before, however I ordered the halloumi portobello mushroom burger WITH mayonnaise. I felt what was served to me was mayonnaise with mushroom and halloumi - complete overkill with mayonnaise, so much so the mushroom and tomato shot out of the bun as soon as i tried to eat it, this was after i had scraped off as much mayonnaise as i could. The waitress came and asked was everything OK with our meal. I told her while the food was good, I couldn't actually enjoy my burger as it was completely smothered in a thick layer of mayonnaise. She apologised saying she would pass my comments onto the chef, I then heard her tell who I presume was the bar manager, no apology or mention from him my concerns when we paid the bill. If was my birthday I cant say i enjoyed my meal that much,. Also we were put on table 9 which felt like we were sitting in a cupboard at the side of the stairs, so not really feeling any atmosphere. Never had a problem before but last night wasn't really a pleasant meal, which is a shame as previously I've never had a problem here.

Out for our Anniversary meal. Never seems to disappoint. Yummy food, well priced, great attentive staff. Definitely will be back.

Had meal here Saturday evening, straight away we were seen to and taken to our table. The young girls that served us were very friendly and attentive. Food itself was amazing as always Will be back soon. Thank you.

Charming old pub full of history and very elegant yet down to earth place. Room was beautiful and very comfy bed . Do not hesitate to book to stay here! You will really enjoy it.Staff can't do enough and all are very friendly. Food was really lovely.I had salmon which was cooked perfectly.Breakfast was even better,hot,well cooked and veggie sausage best ever eaten. Whole place full of character and great atmosohere. Very dog friendly and our dog had a fab time too! We are definitely going to return.

Lovely evening meal with the family - 4 adults & 2 children at Lewis bistro. Friendly, family rub feel with excellent food. Nothing was too much trouble in terms of service.

Came for a meal with friends on Saturday evening. We’d booked in advance and sat in the bar area which is dog friendly. Lovely pub with an open fire which was perfect with snow falling outside! The food was delicious, I had the meat pie with veg and chips which was so nice. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing but too big for me to finish. If you are after a proper Lakeland pub with great food I’d look no further. Thank you.

We booked in as a family of 8 for Thai on a Saturday night, the food was incredible, as good as being in Thailand itself. We really enjoyed it, all the staff were brilliant and really helpful. Thank you
