A small cosy venue with a beautiful tasty meal to start the Christmas celebrations in Grasmere! Staff very welcoming and attentive! Definitely worth a visit, and we will be back!

We were a party of 16 having a pre Christmas lunch. The restaurant was accommodating in the request to where we were seated. Thank you for that. Being a large party we had pre booked our menu choices. We all opted for the Sunday lunch. Food was served promptly and piping hot. The children were served at the same time as adult starters and they all tucked in. The food was tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was extremely efficient with polite and friendly staff. Thank you to all the staff at the Queen's Head.

Drove over 85 miles to visit the Horse and Farrier on Xmas Eve for the first class food and service This is a great venue and atmosphere with friendly staff in a lovely spot Would highly recommended

A fantastic Sunday lunch!

Lovely pub, great atmosphere with very attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roasts, the ladies particularly appreciated the small(child) portions which didn’t outface them. Good value for excellent quality food.

Always visit here when in Keswick. The food is consistently good with lots of choices. Highly recommend the homemade beef pie and fish pie. Lovely, friendly service too.

Exactly what you want after a day on the fells, especially in winter…. a proper cosy old pub with a warm welcome to match the roaring fire. Sunday roast was magnificent in both quality and quantity followed by a great selection of homemade desserts to pick from. Service from the staff was faultless, and our dining unrushed with a special shout out to Fred…. a very attentive hostess. We really didn’t want to leave!

The pub is a lovely historic pub. Unfortunately for our recent family Sunday afternoon roast this is where our praise ends. Service not to par: Kids menus took forever, even delayed after we had to ask after 10mins of seating. Side order didn't appear, so we cancelled it 10mins after our main arrived. Request for more gravy never materialized (menu states bottomless). Food also not to par: The roast's arrived over quickly and only semi warm, looking and tasting like they had been cooked for some time and reheated. It was edible to fill hunger, but just not that enjoyable When asked for our comments at the end of the meal to be fair, once we confirmed our disappointments, we were given a discount of circa 30%. However, this shouldn't make a difference to our review that has now been requested from us online.
