Best vegan restaurant we’ve ever been to. Everything about it is wonderful. We will definitely return when we can and I would recommend it to anyone, vegan or not.

Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickFantastic value really good food my favourite restaurant in Carlisle now we have only lived here a few months but so pleased we found this restaurant
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleHad a meal on Friday night. I had the salt and pepper prawns, which were absolutely amazing, I would go so far to say best prawn starter I ever had. Then the vegetarian curry, which was good but didn't blow me away, hubby had scallops for starters which he said was good and the pork belly which he said was superb. Would highly recommend this place.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereIt’s so good to be able to go to a vegan restaurant without worrying about what you eating. Excellent food amongst kindred spirit. Very nice
Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickExcellent Sunday lunch and service. Its been a favourite of ours for many years. X
Pheasant Inn – KeswickVisited Saturday 17/9/22 Like many places in Keswick the Pheasant are seriously understaffed, we have eaten there many times but our latest visit fell short of there usual high standards, I hope they are able to remedy there problems soon, before it has an irreversible effect on trade
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWent last night for the second time. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food . Great wine . Great night . Thanks
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe've been coming to The Pheasant for 4 years on our trips to the Lakes. It's great food, lovely little pub and well worth a visit - book ahead and you'll be rewarded with a great menu and some superb food. Every time we visit Keswick we will eat there at least a couple of times.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFantastic Sunday lunch in a traditional pub.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat choice for local fare with the locals. This inn is just outside of the main tourist area of Keswick. We stayed at the fantastic Allerdale House on Eskin Street which would have been a 20 minute walk. We drove as on street parking is more than ample. My wife had the beef tips stew special with veg. I had the 21 day dry aged ribeye steak. Both the stew and the steak were cooked and flavored to perfection. This is an old inn and while they can accommodate a good number of people space is tight and reservations are a must. The menu is very diverse and there is something for everyone. The staff is friendly and the service is attentive without being over bearing. Save room for one of their incredible desserts
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe come to the Lake District every April and September. Always have a meal at Lewis’s. Without fail. The food is superb service excellent. Would recommend anyone to try it out.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad to book but well worth the wait. Lovely food and friendly, efficient staff. So nice to have some decent choices as a vegetarian instead of the usual standard offerings
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWhat a gem! Lovely food, cooked by an excellent chef. The menu is varied and staff are very friendly. Can’t fault it.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe visited The Greyhound during a short stay in Cotehill. We found a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The pub is dog friendly and when we arrived we were shown to a corner table as we asked to enable our Spaniel to lay quietly. The menu was typical Country Pub fare but pleasingly extensive with a good variety of meals to choose from. We would have no hesitation in returning.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleWe came here while on a week away in Carlisle and it was absolutely amazing! The service was brilliant and the food was excellent, such good value for money. So glad we picked here for a meal out, some of the nicest food we have ever eaten.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had a meal on Wednesday to celebrate my son’s graduation . Fantastic food , wonderful friendly staff . We all agreed the delicious food was the best we had ever had ! Real value for money too. As CAMRA members delighted with the ales too. A great place for a family celebration and we will be back even if we have nothing to celebrate!!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAbsolutely beautiful as always staff are so welcoming and friendly just the right amount of service not on top of you but there if you need them can never find fault with the food they always get it just right
La Mezzaluna – Carlislemy husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Lewis's bistro. We are vegetarian and it is difficult to find decent dishes that are truly home cooked. We both had the chickpea ,vegetable and potato curry which was lovely and so nice to find a curry that isnt based on coconut milk and where the vegetables are perfectly cooked and not underdone! Staff friendly and efficient .Will definitely go back if we are visiting the area again. I would just point out that a lot of the tables are rather close together and the waitress was sitting us at one close to another couple even though there was another free table a little further away.It was only when we looked reluctant that she offered us the other table -we like a bit of privacy where possible !
