This was our third visit to this pub, and unfortunately went a bit wrong! I booked online, didn't receive an e-mail confirmation, but the online service says 'don't worry if you don't receive this' we have your booking. We called 4 days before to extend our booking to include a couple of friends if possible, to discover our original booking was not in. However, we then got the new booking sorted over the phone. We turned up on the day, to discover we did have a booking, but not for 5.30 as planned, but 8pm!! Apparently the member of staff who made the booking no longer worked there. After a bit of conversation, we were given a table, however, we heard one of the waitresses talking with another saying we had turned up 2 and a half hours early and had been given a table, so had no idea where they would put the people who were meant to be at that table! The staff were clearly under pressure, there were no starters being served, and it was exceptionally busy. The saving grace for us is the food we did have was fantastic. This visit was a disappointment to us, especially as we had brought other friends and were really recommending it. We are returning to Keswick in November with another couple of friends, and will book this pub again due to the great food, although will certainly ensure I have confirmation of booking beforehand. I only hope the other issues are sorted by then, as in our experience this has been an exception to the normal.

Easy booking service online and then a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived. Excellent food choices and gluten-free options and lovely service for the two year old in our party. Delicious and generous portions and great choice of drinks too. Highly recommended.

It was very easy to book a table on line. We were warmly welcomed by all the staff last night. We didn’t have to wait long to order or for our food to actually arrive. We only managed a main course as the venison bourguignon was a great portion size and was absolutely delicious, the accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the castle recently. We had the most amazing time there, we had fantastic food, the best service, quiet piano music playing in the background, we highly recommend Augill Castle and can’t wait to go back.

We visit Keswick twice a year and always book for a meal (or two) at The Pheasant. The pub is always busy and meals are freshly cooked. Staff are always pleasant and hard working. Good to have online booking available now …

Excellent evening all round, as usual. Food, service and atmosphere just perfect. Two specials (venison casserole and chicken, ham and black pudding pie) were spot on, as were the fish and chips. Good portions, but not overwhelming. Thank you, once again.

A very busy pub! Excellent food at reasonable prices; we particularly appreciated the fresh vegetables alongside the main courses. Busy - but that is to be expected when the food offer is so good. Highly recommended.

Great food as always. My husband says his burger was the best he's ever had and the poke bole was excellent. We always head here when visiting Keswick, guaranteed good food and friendly staff.

My wife and I enjoyed a gorgeous meal on Friday night. We were made to feel very welcome and were attended to by lovely staff. My wife even took a photo of the beautifully decorated toilets! Nothing was too much trouble and we were encouraged to do the Fairy Steps walk with a free guide given. That was well worth doing. Will definitely call again. The Inn is a member of Britstops so we stayed overnight in our campervan, will recommend to other users.

I have never had a bad meal at La Mezzaluna! The food is fantastic, tasty and piping hot, the service is impeccable and friendly. I would wholeheartedly recommend this for both food and service and will be back again soon

We booked Grants for the 16th September on our way back home from Ireland. Everything about the meal was brilliant. The food (pigeon & pork, & the sticky toffee pudding & cheese) was beautifully cooked & presented & the service was excellent. It was lovely to be able to talk to each other without competing against surrounding noise. Highly recommended.

Our stay in Grasmere included a meal out, every night.Lewis`s was superb and not expensive for the quality of food we had.The Restaurant was lively, but not full, but the Staff were very good and were good for a laugh!Itwas nice to have a short walk to and from our Hotel, other places needed a bus/car trip.Definitely the best place to eat in Grasmere,in our opinion.Highly recommended.

Good food, good service. Highly recommended. A bit noisy when we went, but it was a Saturday early evening, so a few parties were dining before hitting the town. Can't fault the food or the service. We'll be back soon.
