Pheasant Inn – KeswickPopped in for dinner on sunday on our last night in Beetham. Thoroughly enjoyed the stripped down, old world vibe and the candles on the tables. Even the cutlery came in a pewter tankard. Just fabulous. Our meal was great, beautifully presented and very tasty, while the staff were welcoming and attentive. We love the area, so will be dropping back to the Wheatsheaf on our travels in the future. Thank you very much! Anne and Jim Glee
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe were very impressed with the food. It was very tasty, good quality food and large portions. We also enjoyed the atmosphere, and the staff, all of whom were friendly, very helpful and attentive. We were so impressed that we booked to eat here a second time, on the last night of our 5 night holiday in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food both at breakfast & dinner . Served by delightful friendly staff ... the pub has a lovely atmosphere & very reasonable prices. Will definitely stay & eat there again ! Well done The Wheatsheaf !
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAte here twice last week. Good menu and excellent quality food. Friendly staff. Pub is located circa a mile from the centre of Keswick. Highly recommend.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe booked a table in advance for eight people on a Sunday evening at 7 pm. On arrival the The pub was very busy with people dining and having a beer or two. It had a great atmosphere as any good pub should do. The staff were hard-working very attentive and very polite. The food was very good quality and very generous portion sizes. Would definitely visit again if we are ever in the lakes.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe whole experience was exceptional, made welcome upon entry. Taken straight to our seats and soon served with our teas. We all enjoyed the savoury afternoon tea, something none of us had encountered before. The soup was beautifully presented in glass jars, quite unique. It was hot, tasty and well seasoned. The hot wrap and pasty were also another unique experience, flavours again very tasty. The hot drinks were plentiful and to know we could have a top up was much appreciated. Never had that offered before. Extremely good value and look forward to enjoying another afternoon tea.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenLovely food! Lovely staff too. Didn’t want long for food, reasonable prices too. Definitely will return :)
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent pub atmosphere and very pleasant Sunday roast beef dinner. Staff were charming and all in all a very enjoyable experience in spit of the rainy day.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThis was our second visit here as we enjoyed our visit last year. Very friendly and courteous staff. Good food with nice surroundings. The only downside on a personal level was there weren’t many Vegetarian/Vegan options on the menu.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat friendly welcome, very accommodating for large groups. Great service and food was lovely. Highly recommend
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food, good service & very friendly
Pheasant Inn – KeswickTasty meal. Excellent value. Cosy surroundings. Good service. Visit every time we're in Keswick. Busy little pub so book in advance!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAmazing food. Especially the lamb. The staff are very friendly. Defiantly will return. If you are looking for something special this is the place to visit.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe have eaten many times at the Bistro but this was not one of the better experiences. The main course that we had chosen was not available, and neither was the wine that we had selected. The garlic mushrooms were excessively loaded with garlic and the halibut was tasteless. The beans and carrots served with the halibut were overcooked and oddly tasting. On the positive side, the scallops were excellent and the steak well cooked and presented.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI loved it here. The food was excellent, the decor in the Wheatsheaf was lovely( elegant old world) and the staff were friendly. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meal and would love to return - but we live in Yorkshire. We will recommend it to our friends and do hope to return to the area. Oh - and what a pretty location.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeVery satisfying dinner on a Thursday evening when the restaurant was quite busy. Good atmosphere with well-spaced tables and minimal noise. Our starters were smoked salmon, goat's cheese both delicious: mains arancini/parmesan crisps, lamb chump/crispy kale equally so: dessert cheese board (outstanding) and strawberry parfait (oh dear, the only poor item, very small and bland, on a plate with a pile of biscuit crumbs). The rioja blanco was exceptional and perfectly chilled, the malbec also good. Table staff very friendly and helpful.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenThis is a splendid place to eat. The staff are very accommodating and the food is wonderful.
