The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenReally enjoyable Sunday lunch . Really helpful, polite and friendly staff. Honest tasty food and a great pint of beer .
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe really wanted to get to the Pheasant-Inn at Keswick after looking at the menu and reading the reviews. The problem was, we arrived for lunch, and the dishes we were interested in, though they appear in the lunch menu, weren't ready at this late hour of our arrival (around 14:00). So we couldn't get the fish pie, but we did enjoy the beef pie and also the spare ribs (ordered 2 starter portions to make a main). Other than that, loved the atmosphere and the service.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFantastic food, wonderful friendly staff and great value for money.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFabulous meal, friendly staff. Couldn’t fault our meal, perfect pub grub in a great atmosphere. The fact that they weren’t serving starters was not an issue as it meant we had room for pudding. After a superb lamb Henry and a delightful crumble we were glad of the walk home afterwards!!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAbsolutely fantastic Sunday Lunch. Food really good quality and value for money. Friendly atmosphere and excellent service.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickMaybe the best Yorkshire puddings I’ve tasted. Love that Sunday lunch comes in two sizes. But best of all is the staff service - polite, friendly, chatty and helpful despite being very busy in this popular pub.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickReally enjoyed our afternoon tea at the castle!
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenExcellent food and service
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLove The Wheatsheaf! We went with friends and had a super meal - Roberto soup and venison stew, both delicious as well as the tasty lentil dahl curry. Friendly, efficient service and a lovely atmosphere.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe ordered the fillet steak and lamb. The food was cooked nice but the whole meal was barely warm apart from the chips. The plates were not warmed either. We returned our food and side of order of vegetables to be warmed but it came back again barely warmed. The side order was forgotten which we had to remind the staff to bring. We ate the food and ordered the cheese board which was lovely. After the food was returned no real apology was made and it felt very awkward. We felt unable to complain a second time. No complaints about the quality of food but it should be served at least piping hot. Also sat by the window was cold especially as people entered and left the building. Also no gestures of good will made to compensate our spoiled anniversary meal. I would not return.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFantastic Thai meal. Was hot enough to keep the lads happy. Great night.
Kings Arms – UlverstonGreat food and wine - visited for the first time last night and will definitely be back.
