This meal was terrible. Ordered venison buorgunion and the meat was cold. Ordered Ribeye steak medium rare and the steak was barely cooked on 1 side. Inedible. We conplained and were told they were sorry but there's your bill. £50 for a meal that was discussing.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad a delicious meal at the Pheasant inn. The service was excellent, staff were very pleasant. I would highly recommend the Pheasant Inn.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLoved every minute of it, from the warm welcome and cosy atmosphere, to the amazing choices and beautiful food and drinks we eventually chose. I’ve been veggie for 42 years and my husband vegan for longer and it was a great discovery and unfortunate we didn’t know about this place earlier. Definitely coming back.
Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickGreat night out. Meal and service excellent
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAn impromptu visit to Grasmere and we booked a table at Lewis’s Bistro and we were glad we did. The small restaurant is well organised with an early and late sitting resulting in a relaxed service. Dining is informal so you can call in straight from a day on the fells and is dog friendly. The menu was varied with dishes well cooked and presented well. The wine list is good at a reasonable price point. We will definitely return in the future.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI’ve came here for many years with my wife and we’ve always enjoyed it. It’s our favourite Italian. The staff are so accommodating and friendly and you know the food is always going to be fantastic.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleReally enjoyed the lunch, found was well cooked and piping hot, highly recommended.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were treated to afternoon tea by my niece and weren’t disappointed. We were warmly greeted and led into the lounge where a welcoming fire awaited us. The food was delicious, we particularly liked the fluffy warm scones with clotted cream and jam!
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenWe came for afternoon tea, with bubbles, our first visit to Augill Castle, and celebrating my 70th Birthday and our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We will be back. We were warmly greeted, the venue and the service were wonderful, and the afternoon tea was imaginative and very special. Thank you
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenFantastic afternoon tea - was a gift on red letter days and definitely worth it. We never knew this castle existed and have passed the road it is on many times. We took both our dogs and they were very dog friendly - great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenWould highly recommend. The food was delicious 5*. Starters, Mains and Desserts couldn’t fault anything. Lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely return. Thanks for a lovely meal.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithAlways great food. When in Keswick or nearby, we always make sure we eat there. Great value for money!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis was our third visit to this pub, and unfortunately went a bit wrong! I booked online, didn't receive an e-mail confirmation, but the online service says 'don't worry if you don't receive this' we have your booking. We called 4 days before to extend our booking to include a couple of friends if possible, to discover our original booking was not in. However, we then got the new booking sorted over the phone. We turned up on the day, to discover we did have a booking, but not for 5.30 as planned, but 8pm!! Apparently the member of staff who made the booking no longer worked there. After a bit of conversation, we were given a table, however, we heard one of the waitresses talking with another saying we had turned up 2 and a half hours early and had been given a table, so had no idea where they would put the people who were meant to be at that table! The staff were clearly under pressure, there were no starters being served, and it was exceptionally busy. The saving grace for us is the food we did have was fantastic. This visit was a disappointment to us, especially as we had brought other friends and were really recommending it. We are returning to Keswick in November with another couple of friends, and will book this pub again due to the great food, although will certainly ensure I have confirmation of booking beforehand. I only hope the other issues are sorted by then, as in our experience this has been an exception to the normal.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickEasy booking service online and then a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived. Excellent food choices and gluten-free options and lovely service for the two year old in our party. Delicious and generous portions and great choice of drinks too. Highly recommended.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickIt was very easy to book a table on line. We were warmly welcomed by all the staff last night. We didn’t have to wait long to order or for our food to actually arrive. We only managed a main course as the venison bourguignon was a great portion size and was absolutely delicious, the accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickMy wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the castle recently. We had the most amazing time there, we had fantastic food, the best service, quiet piano music playing in the background, we highly recommend Augill Castle and can’t wait to go back.
