Quality food and great service. First time we have been but it wont be the last.Pork belly followed by a fantastic bakewell tart.

We really enjoyed our experience at Lewis's. It was a busy evening, but the service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. Our evening was over too quickly, we'll definitely pay this wonderful bistro another visit when we're next in Grasmere.

It was just a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were a group of 4, Mum Dad and two uni-student "kids". The service was great, the table decorations eclectic in a good way and the food was great. We ate too much (our fault) and it was good value. I hope you go, and you like it as much as we did!

My wife and I had dinner in the Music Room restaurant a couple of night ago. The service provided by the friendly staff certainly created a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. Our meals were delicious very well cooked and presented. The wine list was extensive and well priced. The only criticism we have is the dreadful generic music that is played in the music room! It did not spoil our overall enjoyment of the meal nor our evening. However, it is something that could easily be rectified. We will certainly return and would recommend this restaurant to others

We absolutely love Lewis’s and eat here every time we visit the lakes. The food is amazing, as is the service. It’s a lovely little bistro with a great atmosphere. We would highly recommend visiting Lewis’s. It’s also great now they have the option to book online meaning we can plan our holiday meals in advance very easily.

a very enjoyable afternoon at the Augill Castle. we will return at some point to discover more about its history and of course to sample its delicious food menu again . Thank you all for looking after us, not forgetting our four legged friend :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Lewis’s last night. After the bad review seen elsewhere we wondered whether we would enjoy our experience ………we needn’t have had any concern whatsoever! From start to finish Amanda and her team looked after us very well. Great, imaginative menu, tasty food, good portions served very hot …..what’s not to like! When we asked for two spoons to share a rice pudding dessert……we got the biggest rice pudding you could imagine! Not sure why Lewis’s hasn’t been on our radar before, they have been open for six years….but we look forward to returning on our next visit to these parts in September. Lewis’s and the team deserve to do well. Thank you.

Booked online which worked very well. Bistro fully booked out and deserves to be. Food ambiance and service were all excellent. Everything is fresh cooked to order and our meal choices were all very tasty. Excellent wines by the glass. Staff and service was as it should be. Tables were well spaced for this crazy covid world and we felt safe and secure. Meal was not rushed nor was it too drawn out. Was a real treat. Would eat here regularly if I lived nearby.

Our meal on the 10th of July was perfect as always I don’t know how they always get it so right it’s our favourite please to eat in Carlisle one of the best and i have eaten in lots of great places the chef is one of the best thank you once again for a great meal and the house wine goes down a treat hope to see you all very soon and all the staff are so nice

We've been here many times before so decided to book again as it's so nice. The scallops were nice but overpowered by garlic the same with the soup, my fish was ok but my husbands belly pork came with the string still on, we've both had this dish many times but never presented with string on! The puddings were lovely and the young guy serving us was brilliant. All in all a very average meal that's usually high class.

Excellent bistro food, nice atmosphere. Smoked haddock omelette starter and Eccles cake dessert were the stars of the show for us. Good unfussy service.

Lovely evening spent here. Food was good, service excellent and happy relaxed atmosphere.
