We always try and book into the Horse and Farrier at Dacre on our frequent visits to the lakes and this time didn’t disappoint. Fantastic roasts and gorgeous venison burgers with the usual great service and a beautiful setting. See you again soon!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe dined on Saturday the 18th October and we both really had a great meal . The staff were on the ball and very pleasant to deal with it was very busy and a good atmosphere in the restaurant. I got talking to the chef at the back of the restaurant over 2 nights we were there a very nice man he gave me some good cooking tips . I told him we dined at forest side on the Friday had a great meal there but if I am honest both me and my wife like the bistro better says it all really .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely delicious roast beef, served pink which is perfect. Lovely mashed potatoes and big selection of vegetables. Portions are very generous! First time I’ve eaten here but been for drinks before in the bar. It gets very, very busy here, I can see why now I’ve eaten there - the food is wonderful. I would recommend booking as I did. The staff are great, even when run off their feet they carry on with a smile. We were in the dog area which is ‘snug’ so the poor chap next to us had my dog (a big boxer) occasionally leaning against him, when he wasn’t lay, spread over the floor - thankfully he wasn’t bothered, they had a dog with them too.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAfter spending a few nights at Ullswater heights we decided to try your lovely pub for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. All 3 of us had the roast beef dinner and it was amazing . We would definitely go back again and certainly recommend it to friends and family .

Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleBooked through the website, was very impressed, confirmation came through almost straight away. Plus a reminder the day before. Booked happy hour, the place has a vibrant atmosphere. Food was excellent, had garlic bread and the olives and languini.
