Very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Good choices on menu with slight variations catered for, e.g. chips for mash
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeDecent food, service and value for money. Wife had Sea Bass and really enjoyed. I had Steak Pie and only minor criticism was pastry a bit thick in the bottom corner, but really tasty. A bit disappointed that a Robinson's Pub had no hand-pulled ale on.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsExcellant meal and service
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI had an excellent meal here. All the food was perfectly cooked. I recommend having the cheese soufflé as a dessert after a sorbet.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWow, wow, wow….. yet another amazing meal and evening at Lewis’s Bistro. I cannot praise this gorgeous restaurant enough. Their menu and food is absolutely stunning. Their staff are fabulous and go out of their way to ensure all your needs are catered for. An absolute must if you fined yourself staying in Grasmere. You cannot leave without trying for yourself.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent meal as always, unfortunately for us we can’t resist the fish and chips. Each visit we try to resist but it is sooo good we don’t have the willpower. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Lovely place to break the journey to the lakes .
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAbsolutely fabulous food and service. A great atmosphere and extremely friendly service, plus generous platefuls at excellent prices. Our new go-to place in Carlisle.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBeen here lots of times one of our fav Italians food excellent served by very pleasant staff
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleBoth myself and husband enjoyed our meals and can recommend both the Duck and Vegetarian wellington the food and service could not be faulted, was a little pricey but would pay that again for the quality and excellent service. Would have liked a bit more room between tables but looking at pictures on this site looks like they may have sqeezed a few extra in to not disappoint anyone. Would definitely go again when in the area
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFriendly service, good food and reasonably priced - well done.
La Mezzaluna – Carlisleamazing food and atmosphere cant fault the service highly recommended
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleDelicious food and excellent service last night for our group of 8. Thank you. We will be back soon
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWhat a little gem the Wheatsheef is. From the moment I walked in to when I left the staff were always polite and friendly. Evening meals were really nice and tasty and the bar was well stocked - what more could I ask for. The bedroom was clean and tidy and the bed very comfy. I loved the notice in the bedroom about the church bells, I didn't even notice them unless I tried!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe were staying at the Quiet Site and randomly wanted somewhere to eat on Saturday night- 11th October. Found the Horse and Farrier on line and the menu looked impressive. It certainly lived up to expectations. The pork belly and pineapple pudding were exceptional. Will recommend this eatery to my friends and family who are often visiting the north Lakes. Brilliant chef and lovely service. Thank you
