We went to the yew tree in January to celebrate my mothers 50th birthday and have to say we will defiantly be back. The staff are extremely helpful and will always go that extra mile to ensure your evening is special. I opted for fillet steak which I asked asked for medium rare and that's exactly how it came. I must say as well, the veg of the day and fluffy hand cut chips complimented it very well. My mother had the fillet of sea bass which see said was to die for, I was surprised because see is usually very fussy with way she eats. We finished our puddings and was directed into a reserved area of the lounge next to the roaring log fire. We really enjoyed our evening and and got a big thank you when will left. We will definitely be back and will recommend to any friend or family member.

had a great Sunday lunch with my old queen. The potted duck and Cumberland sauce was great although it maybe needed a touch more salt. The other side of the table got all sticky with the ginger sticky chicken wings. Main courses of Roast loin of pork was the ultimate. 2 good slices of pork loin still tender and juicy with crackling that was supremely crispy. the portobello mushroom burger was good but the tomato sauce has the weirdest taste, maybe some work needs doing there. The jelly was more like a wine gum consistency which was a shame and lacked flavour although the whipped custard quenelle was beauty. I could of eaten a whole jar of that. After saying all that the service was impeccable and the new spring menu will be arriving on Friday the 15th April. we will be booking for Easter. Yes that's correct you will need to book. I love this place, i have a soft spot for it. Keep up the good work.

The Black Horse is a charming and delightful place to eat , my wife and I revisited with my sisters after a 40 + yrs away and missing the pub style meals of fish and chips and mushy peas . My what a treat we truly enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the management. We have one regret not bring back the mushy pea recipe if you feel comfortable sending it we would appreciate it. The Double Tree Restaurant, is defiantly a place to go to, if you are after first class food. The people are friendly, the prices are fantastic, and the food is phenomenal, I would recommend everybody to give Double Tree a try!! Had such a lovely time with friends as the atmosphere within the restaurant was warm, and the service was fantastic. I will be visiting again very soon!

A fantastic place, the food is only surpassed by the friendly staff. The meals I have had here are both tasty and filling, by far the best curry I've had in and about Preston. Brilliant!

This restaurant is totally fantastic, it was just a great experience, for my family and I. I decided to go on the first week of opening and it was Very busy... I can see the reasoning behind this as the food was truly fabulous. The service was reasonably good considering they a full house the food was out and ready within a flash. It was a great dinning experience for my family I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with great taste and style.

I decided to take my family out to this restaurant on a Friday night, and quite frankly it was dead! The atmosphere was horrible. The waiters we very disrespectful towards a paying customer! The food came out 30 mins after we ordered but considering we were the only ones in the service was very bad,.. But not only did it take a while the food that came out was extremely cold, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Not a bad place if i was to pay a tenner for the food, it tasted like a jar of uncle bens ready made curry sauce... with uncooked rice! Not Acceptable at all! very disappointed, best part of the night was leaving... Dont bother wasting your money...

The Double Tree offers all you expect to see in an Indian restaurant, so finding your favourite dish won’t be hard, but the additional ‘designer’ dishes on the menu mean that for those who like to try new tastes and extend their horizons a little, there’s plenty to tempt them here. Well presented, clean and modern style, backed up by great service and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

i didn't expect it too be this good. the food is very tasty and they have very friendly staff who provide top service. This is one of my top restaurants. We were not disappointed, the food was delicious, tasted very fresh. Very highly skilled staff. were incredibly helpful and welcoming.

I had a meal at the Double Tree couple of days after the official opening. food was delicious, as it had its own unique flavour. The presentation of the food was to a very satisfying standard.

The meal was fresh and well presented, with friendly staff and good quality china. Service was fantastic I would definitely recommend a visit to sample the delights of their Indian cuisine.

The best Indian food in Preston. i got some fantastic chicken tikka to start with salad and a yummy green dressing. to follow i had the rogan josh which came with fab bread, spicy potatoes rice and a dahl dish. all the food was better than your average curry house by a country mile! try it!!

An avid Indian food fan,Double Tree is up there with the best,excellent food first class service a must for good Indian food fans,keep up the standard.

A traditional old style pub,with original features something that is rare these days. Staff are always friendly. Drinks are very good.The food is very tasty. A place really worth a visit. Although if your allergic to dogs, it may be an issue as dogs are allowed in the bar if well behaved.

would recommend monte cristo, the food,wine and service is absolutely fabulous, i have been a few times now and never had a bad meal or service. :)

I ate here on my sister's recommendation and can see why she raves about it! Gourmet food at a basic price. The best local produce and everything home made, imaginatively presented and delicious. My starter was a dou of salmon( cooked 3different ways) with cream cheese,followed by pan fried cod,olive and pepper tapenade with confit plum tomato,followed by the lightest home made dream of a sticky toffee pudding and butterscoth sauce. My companion had ham hock and parsley terrine with home made piccalilli, then the tenderest of roast beef and home made Yorkshire pudding followed by a glazed lemon tart. The accompanying vegetables and roast potatoes were unfaultable and the three courses with fresh coffee, tea and homemade chocolates was £18 per person. I have paid far more elsewhere for lesser quality. The chef Karen trained at Michelin star level and it shows.The atmosphere is welcoming with woodburning stove and oak floors and there is a garden centre and gift shop.It makes a visit to the picturesque village of Wray even more worth while. The tea rooms are open 10am till 5pm in the summer and 4pm in the winter with Friday 5pm tea a speciality and a bistro evening meal alternate Saturdays. I Heartily recommended.
