Visited 2/1/25 for the first time following a recommendation from a friend, it didn’t disappoint, friendly efficient staff and superb food. It’s popular for a reason, a hidden gem. Between us we ate fish and chips and chowder, all excellent and generous portions, we will definitely return.

Lookout On The Pier – ScarboroughLovely setting we were in the area on holiday for New Year. Booked a table for New Years Day. Ordered steak pie which unfortunately had three lumps of grizzle and fish pie which was beautiful. We thought more veg would have been better. We didn't get offered a desert menu just more drinks. Bit disappointed as we have been here several years ago and the food was beautiful.

Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonAbsolutely superb. This is our go to when in Scarborough for the New Year. The food, service and atmosphere was once again excellent. We had salt and pepper squid with Harissa mayo and then had the Thai mussel special that was so, so good. The staff are such a fantastic asset to Lookout on the Pier, they're friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble for them.

The service was swift and friendly, the gluten free indications were made clear by our waitress and the food was, as always, out of this world. The lobster Thermidor and smoked haddock were our favourites out of the 6 we chose, but we loved every dish. If I was to make one suggestion it would be to label GFA on the menus and have GF bread and desserts available, but these are small things and I was actually far too full to squeeze in a dessert this time. We also love our little cozy dimly lit corner at table 1 - it’s our go-to for a lovely private dining special occasion, tucked away. We always can’t wait to return. Thank you so much.
