I used to Live in Oldham a few years ago and Simla was the best and still is the best Indian Restaurant!! I travel 90 mile round trip to visit this restaurant. Beautiful food and great service!!!

The Windmill offers great value money in terms of the restaurant. However getting served is a different matter, esp. in the vault. Whilst the majority of the staff are great, there are one or two obnoxious individuals who spoil it for everyone due to laziness. Anonymous

We went to the River Restaurant as my leaving meal - group of 7 people on a Saturday evening. We were lucky to have had the opportunity to have the 777 menu (all courses £7, fantastic bargain!) The restaurant looks great - bright, clean, welcoming, luxurious. We had a table by the window overlooking the river terrace. The attention we received from the staff was excellent & our meal was out of this world. We all had wonderful dishes & very impressed with the quality of the food, dish composition & taste. It was the most amazing offer & I have seen it has been extended until later this year. I would recommend the River Restaurant & would go again without a doubt. It would also be nice to just have a coffee or drinks on the terrace overlooking the river, weather permitting. Just go!

We tried the Wiggin Tree early evening on a wet Friday. Having witnessed the recent renovation whilst regularly passing it in the car I expected good decor and ambience. I was not disappointed, a rustic edge and slightly old fashioned but not too twee, deceptively large dining areas and background 'chill out' music all gave good first impressions. A little surprised to see the lunch time menu was still operated up until 6pm but the choice was reasonable and prices not excessive. We selected the stilton and watercress soup as starters which was tasty although the accompanying crusty bread was soft and uninviting. For mains we tried the home made burger and roasted peppers. A little disappointing, the burger lacked taste and I had anticipated chunky seasoned chips instead of the insipid fries dished up. The pepper was, at best, okay but needed to be served hot, not luke warm. We shared a desert, the apple and gooseberry crumble, which was not only big enough but, pleasant to taste and hot. In all, a decent place to sit and eat, reasonable prices but food is only average.

Excellent, authentic and cosy restaurant. Tastefully decorated with objet d'art in true Persian style. Ideal place for either a romantic meal, a group of friends or someone eating alone. The food was really exceptional, full of subtle flavours. The meat was perfectly cooked and really tender, as was the rice. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was so friendly and helpful. The chefs were so humble when we complimented them on the high standard of their food.

very pleasant and efficient staff, lovely food, pleasing decor and environment. Just one small point, why does a restaurant of this quality use paper napkins?? you wouldn't dream of paper table cloths!

The Windmill pub in Denton is well worth a visit. It is just £3.50 for a meal from the carvery and it is exceptional value for money i think. The meat is served to you and you help yourself to the vegetables, i can recommend the cauliflower cheese.

This bar is proper, great food , great place - it rocks !

The food at the Bull's Head was absolutely fantastic..the Aubergine Courgette Tomato bowl was to die for, no doubt the best food I had during my trip to Manchester/London.

AVOID! The Ox has been taken over & is now not what it once was. By a very long mark. If you are after decent food or a gastropub experience, then The Ox is not the place to go. It is now more of a bustling pub - lively & boozy - which is fine if that is what you are after. I had to send my food back twice & the problem not rectified. The problem? The sauce for my sizzling platter, straight out of a packet, not only tasted disgusting but also had not even been mixed properly so I ended up with a mouthful of powder mix - unpleasant to say the least. Despite me sending it back twice & not eating the dish, a refund was not forthcoming - all in all a disappointing experience & really quite extraordinary. Mind you, if you go to a boozy pub on a Friday night expecting exceptional gastro-pub cuisine what can you expect!

i have been here with my girlfriend and i have to say it was awesome loved it you get a real Thai experience here as its mainly full of Thai people and the price was amazing given the standard of food

We were recommended the restaurant by my work colleagues. We tried the banquet B and loved the platter (the best salt and pepper ribs i've ever tasted). There was so much food for 2 people we couldn't eat it all. The waiter was kind enough to encourage us to doggy bag. The food was very tasty, fresh and plenty of it. I loved the decor of the restaurant - so trendy and modern. I will be coming back for their Taste of China evenings. Also their wine was really good too. Thanks for a brilliant night.

We went to Jem & I for the first time on Saturday and thought the staff, atmosphere, music and food were absolutely fantastic we would recommend to anyone who loves delicious food. we will be going back and it's now in our top 5 of favourite restaurants. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

We visit the Jitrada on a fairly regular basis (from Rochdale) and are never disappointed. We take our two children (ages 2 and 12) and they really enjoy the food and the ambiance. My little one especially likes crossing the bridge and looking at the fish! The food is always delicious and the staff always friendly and attentive. Now that it is no smoking, it is even nicer! Recommended.

I've been to this restaurant many times. The food and service is excellent. All the items on the menu are numbered so its easy to keep track of what you've order - even better take a small post it pad with you and write down each item ordered.

Excellent food very rich and filling. My husband is a non vegetarian and really enjoyed his bangers and mash with chips and I chose a spinach and beetroot dish which was ab delicious. A bit pricey but definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Pleasant enough ambiance and good service. Its not really authentic latin american food though, more tex mex/toned down interpretations for the timid (or those who haven't experienced the genuine article). Generous portions in pleasant surroundings but if you're expecting something genuine and really different you may be disappointed.
