Cinnamon Indian Cuisine – WiganWe were recommended Sweet Mandarin by many work colleagues and decided to go try the restaurant. I decided to try their new cocktail Mandarin Jazz and i wasn't disappointed. The food was tasty and plentiful. I certainly was impressed with the service and food. I will be recommending Sweet Mandarin to many more work colleagues.
Sweet Mandarin – Northern Quarterwe sat down in La Piazza at 9.10pm for a 9.15pm booking, We ordered a bottle of wine at 9.15pm. At 9.25pm we approached the bar, to be told the wine was on its way. We said we was ready to order food, and were told that he could not take our food order, and he would send some one over shortly, at 9.35pm we decided to leave. On the way out, we approached a member of staff at the desk, we said we were leaving as nobody had come over to take our order, she said the delay in our arrival of our drinks was that there was a problem with the bar, an we told her that we were still waiting to order food, and she said there was only one member of staff who could take the food order and that was her self. We told her that this obviously doesn't work, and she replied well it does actually. at that point we left "the customer is always right"
La Piazza – CheadleSimply awful! Tried The John Gilbert carvery on a Saturday evening and experienced the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Indifferent staff on the carvery, dried meats that had been sat under warming lamps for too long, cauliflower cheese that looked and smelt rancid (and should have been thrown away not offered for sale), veggies that were dried out as they too had been standing for far too long, roast potatoes that were not only cold but black and rotten and 'gravy' that was like an oil slick. I certainly won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone. Such as shame for what could be a superb restaurant in this historic building and village.
John Gilbert, The – WorsleyI was there last night with my fiance and we had a lovely time , the staff were very professional and the food was FANTASTIC. I had a chicken and pinenut pasta for my starter which was a bit rich but neither the less lovely . I would highly recommend the florentina pizza and the peppered fillet steak both of which are a good choice . We finished our meal with lemoncello which was served ice cold and very refreshing. I would urge anyone to try this great city centre restaurant .
Giovannis – Manchester City Centrewell worth visiting. tried first time a year ago and was hooked!! great food and very good service. would recommend, been going since even though i live 40 miles away
Sizzling Palate Restaurant – BoltonOrdered 'Spring Deer' banquet for two. Quality of food and service was excellent. Would eat here any time, best Chinese restaurant outside of 'Chinatown'
Spring Deer – WorsleyOnce inside the stunning building you could be in any stylish city centre diner if it wasnt for the very reasonable prices. Fascinating interior creates a great atmosphere, and the menu is brilliant. Huge selection of different Indian dishes all clearly explained. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and the attention of the genuinely friendly staff makes the evening pleasantly memorable. Superb food and a different experience all together from the usual Indian restaurant.
Mahabharat Restaurant – WiganFantastic restaurant! Food is really yummy with some really authentic Malay dishes that I haven't seen in other Malay restaurants in the UK. There are always specials along with the main menu. Loads of options for veggies and all reasonably priced compared to elsewhere in the city. Restaurant also has full disabled access. Service is great, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Nice touches such as the waiting staff ask if you're ready for your next course. The owners are usually around and always take the time to talk to you/ask if you've enjoyed your meal. Decor is beautiful and modern but not pretentious. This restaurant is great for any event, whether it be a romantic meal for 2 or a group night out. It's the only restaurant in Manchester that has ever inspired me to write a review!
Ning – Northern QuarterWe visited on the 28/4/08, the restaurant wasn't particularly busy for a Sunday night but we had a 40 min wait for the food which went it arrived was cold and disappointing. The menu is very limited and the prices are high compared to the portions and quality. We will not be returning! Bar prices are high too.
Wiggin Tree – WiganWe have been here many times. love the place the food is the best
Tai Pan Restaurant – RusholmeForget the Curry Mile, this place is way way ahead. The Grill is the future and boy have they got a grill to die for. Just try a T.Bone or a Sirloin Steak, sounds boring I know but they put most of the best U.K Steakhouses to shame. They also do a whole leg of Lamb, just give them a ring and order a good 3 hours in advance ...unique ! It's a must
Kebabish Original Manchester Central – Cheetham HillWe used to go to Happy Season. But since we discover Fus Chinese Restaurant, we never look back. The innovative interior design is a refreshing change to your typical Chinatown restaurant. Bright and airy with relax atmosphere. I would recommend the Fus Chinese Restaurant in china town any day. Me and my girlfriend go there about 3 times a month, the Chinese style roast duck and char sui are the best in Chinatown, try it and see. The price is excellent. Very friendly staff. Good service. Excellent quality of food. Definitely would recommend friends for a sooner visit! Thanks
Fus Chinese Restaurant Cafe – Manchester City CentreWhenever we're in Manchester, we always head to San Carlos, as the food is great, the service is fast, the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated and the prices are very reasonable. Great restaurant in a central location!
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreThis is a great little place i have been a number of times and have never found any fault. The Chef prepares the food with obvious pride i would recommend this place to anyone.
Stables Restaurant – HydeMe and my partner have been going to Sul Lago since it opened at least once a month and it has always been excellent food never once had a bad meal. the staff extra helpful and food is delivered in super fast time (just what need with the delicious smells coming from the kitchen) the desserts and the strawberry champagne cocktails are to die for would always recommend it
Sul Lago – OldhamJust had a friend over from Brescia and we visited Sul Lago twice in a matter of days. I've always found the food to be excellent anyway but it was nice to hear the same views from my Italian friend. He was very impressed and commented that the quality of the food was much better than many Trattorias in Italy! Boy, was I relieved!
Sul Lago – Oldhamoh my god went to nutters yesterday for the St Georges celebration, it was truly amazing the food, service and atmosphere was truly sensational and made us proud to be English. What a fantastic experience just heard they got the Manchester Restaurant of the year which is well deserved.
