Sul Lago – OldhamI have written a previous report on this establishment, so I feel have have some sort of right to have this report published. My wife and I were deeply disappointed in our last visit to the High Moor. The wait, between first and main course, was close to an hour which is totally unacceptable. When the main did arrive, my choice, the rack of lamb, was so over-cooked it was verging on burnt. The lady Maitre De asked us at the end of the meal if we had enjoyed it and in unison we both said no! This venue we use for our wedding anniversary and this was our 23rd. We have been visiting the High Moor for many of those 23 and have also brought, and recommended, the High Moor to friends and family. Unless they get their act together, Simon!! then it will be a long time before we revisit. I asked the Maitre De if the usual chef, Norman, was working that night, and was told he was. Norman, your standards are slipping! I am quite happy to put my e-mail address here for a retort or questions about this, once fabulous, eatery. Come On Simon!! Even the menu was poor!
High Moor Restaurant – WiganI have just moved into Didsbury village and went to this restaurant for the first time last night. I will go back without a doubt!! The food was really really tasty and I thought the whole atmosphere was lovely. It is a little place which is not trying to be something it isn't, which serves excellent food with a smile and didn't break the bank. They do take aways too - perfect.
Swadesh – DidsburyService was abysmal. We entered the restaurant and had to seat ourselves and find our own menu. The upstairs toilets are grubby. My main course was shop bought. To top it all I found an earwig in my wine. Big YUK from me.
Casa Belmondo – Roytonwe have been going to this restaurant for many many years.we have always had great service from Rafiq, you could not fault this man, nothing is to much trouble for him, alas we feel things have changed recently, and we feel not for the better. new staff have appeared, too full on,too pushy and might we add to much in your face, enough to make one want to go elsewhere. we say the restaurant should go back to the way it was , a very happy and friendly place to go, heres ,hoping that the management take note and see what is truly happening before there eyes.
Shahenshah Restaurant – RusholmeI was disgusted at the bland quality of the food that does not represent Greece but a mix of all including tapas. Poor service with a lot of drug dealers handing around. I was also shocked to find out that Dimitris had a race-hate campaign against its neighbour Jowata restaurant. Apparently the Evening News and the Voice Newspaper revealed this info in February this year. Just next door on Jowata's windows you can see that this beautiful establishment had to put up with such racism from Dimitris and staff. Appalling and shameful to know this still goes on considering his establishment seems busier because of the alchohol sold on the other side of Jowata, on Deansgate. People should be told the truth and boycott such an establishment based on Dimitris ethnic stereotyping racism. I was happy to know Jowata won all cases and stood up to old dimitris.
Dimitri’s Tapas Bar Taverna – Manchester City CentreThe food here is great. The burgers are probably the best I've ever tasted. The beef is delicious, soft, and just perfectly done. There is a choice of about 25 different burgers. The majority of these have Aberdeen Angus Scotch beef as their main ingredient, but there's also a choice of several chicken, lamb, venison, chorizo and vegetarian options. Drinks-wise, there's a selection of bottled beers (including a couple of interesting New Zealand ones), soft drinks, milkshakes (which are just amazing!), soft drinks. Didn't see the wine list, but there is one available to look at on request. The welcome is friendly, and the ambience decent enough (very good for a burger restaurant!). We were shown to our table and informed it's a 'order and pay at the counter' set up. Slightly irritating, but fair enough. Food arrived quickly, and was just lovely.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen – SpinningfieldsArmenique has excellent service with Edward's expertise, he has made one of the best shops in Gatley . Armenique has a wide selection of choices to choose from it has freshley baked bread, cheeses, salads, deli, diabetic foods, mediterranean foods, meats and a wide variety of wines, beers and soft drinks. With the low prices you couldn’t go wrong, Edward the manger is great to get along with and all the other staff are friendly to and always have a smile on their faces.
Armenique – CheadleWe went to nutters for afternoon tea, DONT BOTHER...... VERY RUDE waiting on staff, we asked for less cakes and more sandwiches that tutted and still didn't get what we asked for very expensive at the cost of £40 for 4 tiny finger sandwiches and 5 mini cakes each have been for dinner in the past and this restaurant is going down hill ""Andrew you need to speak to your staff about their service!!!!!!" IVE ALSO SPOKE TO FRIENDS WHO FEEL THE SAME WAY WHO WONT BE COMING BACK go to SLATTERYS in Whitefield brilliant service fantastic food
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleWell, it took a little bit of time...but I finally found a place in Manchester that does good quality pub food. I certainly took for granted all the lovely pub and cafe meals you can get in Melbourne, Aus. I would recommend the ox to anyone!
The Oxnoble – Manchester City CentreHaving eaten at nearly all the curry houses in Manchester the spicy hut has to be the best in town. I have recommended it to many people and they have all become regulars. Try for your self and see that Shabir and his staff will go out of their way to make your visit an occasion to remember. Food is fantastic. The service faultless.
Spicy Hut – RusholmeI'm not sure what the other reviewers on here are drinking, but I have found this place to be very poor and even the Curry Mile can give it a run for its money! If you want good quality Indian food, there are better restaurants up the road!
Great Kathmandu – DidsburyOH MY GOD!!!!! THIS RESTAURANT IS AMAZING, THE SURF AND TURF AND THE GRILLED BANANAS A MUST ...... IT WOULD BE RUDE NOT TO GO
The Grill On the Alley – Manchester City CentreWe called into Taurus lately by way of a change from Velvet or Via. I must say I found the whole experience an absolute pleasure. The food was fab along with the friendly service and great wine. Try their pate... its lovely.
Taurus Cafe Bar and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWe've eaten here twice and on both occasions we had a lovely meal. The service was particularly good when we beat the crowds and got in on a Friday before 6.00. The staff are very friendly which makes it more memorable. Definitely recommended plus you've got the advantage of the good nightlife that's around the Northern Qtr.
Sweet Mandarin – Northern QuarterI have tried this restaurant several times for a 'special lunch'. On every occasion it has been excellent, with a really varied and exciting menu. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very professional. Superb value for money.
Try Thai – Manchester City CentreA great place to eat. On this visit our waiter admitted it was his first shift and did leave something to be desired with the service, although the food was delicious and the house merlot very drinkable. The coffee was the only let down, I'd give that a miss next time!
Jem and I Bar and Grill – Didsburyhaving previously recommended Punjab on a couple of occasions we decided to travel down to Rusholme for the second week running after an absence of what 12 months.Last week we had a brilliant meal in the Sagnam ,no complaints, but once again after our visit this week the Punjab excelled in food, cost and friendly service.I highly (and i dont say that often) recommend this superb ,modest family run establishment. Very VERY VERY GOOD.
