Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportWe always enjoy eating at Llys Meddyg. This Saturday was excellent. The Torched Mackerel was brilliant as was my Cod for main course. Others at the table felt the same with high praise for the Beef from one. Vegtables were cooked well - not over cooked and therefore tasty. Service was very helpful and attentive despite being completely full.
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportI came for lunch with five friends, to celebrate my birthday. We all had had lovely food, I enjoyed the fish cakes., with some broccoli and toasted almonds washed down with a glass of white wine. Friendly service and all in this lovely old atmospheric pub .

Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportA Truly Memorable Meal – Warm, Welcoming, and Utterly Delicious My partner and I recently visited Llys Meddyg with our 9-month-old daughter, and I’ll admit, we were a little nervous about bringing a baby to such a highly regarded restaurant. But from the moment we arrived, the team couldn’t have been more accommodating, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff engaged with us and our little girl in the most natural and thoughtful way, making us feel completely at ease and cared for throughout the evening. The food was nothing short of exceptional. We began with the ham hock terrine and burrata – both exquisite. The ham hock, paired with a whipped yoghurt, was a standout, not only for us but also for our daughter, who adored it so much that the staff kindly brought her a little portion of her own to enjoy with some soft, melt-in-the-mouth carrots. It was a simple gesture, but one that meant the world to us as new parents. Our mains of beef and lamb shoulder were equally impressive – beautifully cooked, deeply flavoured, and perfectly balanced. Every bite was a joy. Even the side of carrots, delicately prepared and served with a smoked labneh, was a triumph in its own right. It’s difficult to put into words just how special the whole experience was. It wasn’t just the food – which was faultless – but the atmosphere, the kindness, and the genuine hospitality that made the evening so memorable. We left feeling utterly content and already looking forward to returning. Thank you, Llys Meddyg, for a truly wonderful evening. We can’t wait to come back and do it all again.
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportWe had a great dinner here. Very welcoming and great cooking.
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportGreat service and food with a smile. Not to be missed.
The Copper Pot – CardiganWe had the most incredible evening at The Secret Garden, celebrating my fiancé’s birthday — and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere is absolutely enchanting, however the highlight of our meal was without a doubt the lamb — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. It was easily one of the best dishes we've ever had. Every course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, but the lamb stole the show.
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportVery welcoming staff. Excellent food, we had lamb and cod and burnt tart dessert. The food was exceptional and the service was friendly and efficient . It is quite pricey but worth it for a treat.
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportAs well as being in an obviously beautiful place , Sailors Safety is a very old quaint pub and restaurant with lots of history. Beautifully decorated and the food was outstanding with an impressive menu. Compliments to the chefs ! All staff were so friendly and helpful even though it was busy inside and out. Lots of smiles in so much heat ! A treasure magical place in my home county of Pembrokeshire! X
Sailors’ Safety – NewportThis venue was recommended by friends so we had high expectations. Re food we were happy with our meals - main courses were delicious. Side dishes on the expensive side. Likewise desserts were delicious - although one of us had to settle for second choice as the croissant bread and butter pudding had run out. Atmosphere very pleasant and our waiter looked after us attentively. It was quite quiet in the dining room - not many diners For us this was a ‘treat’ We wouldn’t be able to afford to eat here often. A Campari and soda -not a spritz- ordered as a pre meal drink cost us £11 which was a surprise. When we queried it on the bill we were told it counts as a cocktail - very pricey soda water! On another note, we found all staff very helpful and friendly during our 3 night stay. A particular thanks to our breakfast waiter
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportWent for lunch on my birthday. Excellent food, service was attentive but not imposing. Would thoroughly recommend.
Sailors’ Safety – NewportHad a lovely meal, all very pleasant and accommodating, even with a dog. Friendly staff. Good selection on menu to cover all tastes. Never been before but we will return.
The Copper Pot – CardiganWe ate in a pod in the Secret Garden. The food, service and ambience were superb. We'll definitely be back (again).
Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportGreat food, great service, great setting.
The Copper Pot – CardiganLovely location. Food very good. Service excellent.Staff all smiling and happy to help.
Sailors’ Safety – NewportVery good once again. Mackerel, lamb, sole and the desserts all top class. I shouldn't have ordered the mussels in the Summer of course, and indeed they weren't the best option. Excellent rose wine complimented everything.
