Service, atmosphere and food well below the standard of the Prestbury restaurant (which we love). Better tapas places in Macclesfield. Will not be returning to the Chestergate.

Visited for a Xmas meal with friends 16-12-23 food was nice but seeing so close to Christmas there wasn’t an atmosphere In the pub we last visited 30 th June 23 to celebrate my husbands 50 th & it was alot more better atmosphere so that was a disappointment

Food excellent staff friendly cleanliness very good visited two night consecutivly now travels home. will be back when next in the area.Have tried other eating places in the area and this place is top of my list.

Excellent, especially the staff who served a birthday cake (pre-arranged secretly) to one of our group. Not only did they present the cake, they sang Happy Birthday to the recipient.

Lovely evening meal at The Mere Court restaurant during our two night stay, dinner was included in our booking on the first night. Very homely restaurant with mainly excellent food (just a portion of very dry beef that we thought about sending back but for which we received free coffees in compensation). Excellent service from Luke, perfect blend of friendliness and professionalism. Would recommend.

Visited mid week with a friend. Good pint and food was excellent with a varied and interesting menu. Service was excellent and staff lovely. Pub was warm, clean and welcoming.

Excellent as always, food is fantastic, staff are very welcoming and friendly, and athe restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere. Our favourite restaurant, will be back soon.

Lovely atmosphere and great food - the staff were very busy and a request for vinegar & tartar sauce never materialised but the apologies were very genuine. We felt really looked after and it was excellent value for money

Lovely venue, staff were friendly and professional. Great menu to choose from for a mixed family group. Great food and such a a peaceful atmosphere, no loud background music and it was a busy Sunday evening. We will definitely return.

I visited with friends on Saturday evening and was blown away by the food which was absolutely delicious my friend, also a chef, said the Black Pudding Stack was the best starter she’d ever eaten! High praise indeed. I had the festive menu with roast turkey and trimmings and it was amazing. Great value and a lovely atmosphere. It’s not a big restaurant so booking is advisable but so worth a visit. You won’t regret it

Absolutely lovely food and people

Panama Hattys at Spurstow is fabulous, the food is great (not the usual run of the mill), the staff are friendly and efficient, and Andy and Phil are awesome - welcoming, nothing is too much trouble

Fabulous meal, excellent service. Would recommend. The only thing I will say, if you don’t know where it is you could miss it, needs more presence on the street.
