Service was brilliant Staff are so attentive without being intrusive Souffles were perfect Meat very fresh Staff kindly went out of their way to cater for my fussy husband, providing fish and chips which weren’t on main menu The only slight disappointment was that the deep fried fish was a little dry and chewy!! Very welcoming, a lovely family. Super Scallops starter, Over salted fish dish for mains. Hen night came in and we were left with the youngsters as #waiters They did well... considering. Atmoshere okay, a little pricey.

Can’t believe it took us so long to visit this diamond of a restaurant. The menu may be smaller but the flavours are mighty with enough selection to please every palate. We started with Prawn Skagen and the specials Cauli Filo rolls which were both very tasty, I could’ve just eaten a plate of the Cauli rolls! We then had the specials feta & strawberry salad and the spring cabbage leaves. The salad was so light and fresh with delicious strawberries, green beans and feta, very summery. The cabbage leaves filled with quinoa, peas, miso garlic mushrooms on a broad bean mash with maple and soy was just superb. We shared every course and took a rhubarb streusel home for our daughter as it was GF. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Macclesfield. Thank you Jo for a wonderful meal, we will be back!

We came for a champagne afternoon tea on 17/6/23 We were asked where we would like to sit and Maria who looked after us was very polite without being overbearing. The food was fresh and appetising and the drinks hot and plentiful. The champagne was cold and fizzy lol. All in all a lovely experience.

Fabulous food, huge selection especially for Vegetarians. Great Service. Sitting in the garden area felt like we could be away on holiday.

Four of us enjoyed afternoon tea here in a very pleasant dining area. We had a large full teapot each and just about enough milk. The sandwiches were delicious with plenty of filling and the scones warm (would have preferred clotted cream though). The cakes were perhaps not as “ exciting “ as we have had at other venues but still ok. It would have been nice if some one had asked us if we needed anything and if everything was satisfactory!

Service was prompt and friendly throughout in a lovely atmosphere. It was a very hot day. The large door/windows were open and the restaurant felt very comfortable. We had a party of four and all enjoyed their meals. The Prawn Cocktails were delicious but I felt that the pickled cucumber done in long strips was rather tricky to handle with a small spoon and small fork and would have preferred shorter strips. An excellent menu with something for every taste.

Great meals, drinks and service at The Salt Bar. We had the early bird offer of two courses and a drink for £20 per person. We both had mackerel pate for starters. My wife had the burger for main course and I had the meat balls. My wife had a house white wine and I had a lager. Everything was lovely. Service was pleasant and efficient.

Birchwood Spice never fails to delight! The food is always spectacular and the staff very welcoming, efficient and friendly. I visit often and have introduced many friends to the restaurant. I also hold office get-togethers here and have never once have any hint of a complaint or adverse comment. Keep up the great work guys :)

Afternoon tea was out of this world. Top quality food and lovely glass of champagne. Staff were friendly and efficient. The building is set in a lovely location and gardens are beautiful.

Our local pub so very handy and a nice addition to the village. Service was friendly and efficient with all the pre-ordered food ( we were a party of 12) arriving as per the list. I think the food is as expected for a place with very reasonable prices and all the plates were clean at the end. I didn't notice the atmosphere but am sure it was good and I didn't miss piped music as we were busy chatting.

Nice food a little expensive especially the starters for the size, but the main disappointment was the slow service. I would visit again hoping the service is better and it was a one off occasion.

We visited the Ship Inn, Wincle, yesterday with our grandchildren and had a lovely meal in the garden. The fish and chips was excellent, a good size portion for £9.95 and great quality! Service was excellent and we look forward to returning very soon!
