Food & service is always good - this was our fifth visit. However, the table has been moved to a room similar to a works restaurant - a shame as the old seating provided a lovely atmosphere

We came for a lovely meal on a Friday, easy to book and great service. Menu is great, lots of choice - we eat there every so often so we did the steak pie and the fish and chips. Good portions and really tasty but the clincher was the apple and raspberry crumble to share, which was really gorgeous and a great idea! It was also really big but we still managed to finish it (bit ashamed to say really!) For £9 it was fantastic value as a dessert!

Booked afternoon tea for two, consisting of finger sandwiches, warm scones with jam and cream and a selection of cakes. I had a pot of coffee and my other half a pot of tea. On arrival we were seated in a bright room overlooking the garden by a lovely young girl who made us feel welcome and provided excellent service throughout. Nothing was too much trouble. Drinks arrived promptly and tea and coffee was replenished regularly. The cakes were lovely, especially the lemon drizzle. Would recommend.

We had a lovely meal that couldn’t be faulted. Excellent food with good sized portions. Good choices so we all found our favourites. The Croque Monsieur was the best I’ve ever tasted. The carrot cake was a firm favourite too. A gem of a place in a pretty little courtyard that we’d not spotted before. We will most definitely be back

Lovely venue. Staff are welcoming and friendly , yet efficient. Food was very good and in my humble opinion value for money. Cocktails are amazing too. Won't leave it as long before we go back this time.

Over from Ireland visiting friends, they brought me here for lunch. Highly recommended everything was top class. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great food with Lovely service

Total lack of staff, asked for a coffee when it came it was stone cold, could I find anyone to change it no. We have been here a few times, but we were really disappointed. Will we go again, not sure.

A Fantastic Pub Experience! We had such a great time on our visit to this pub. The food was absolutely amazing — such a lovely and varied selection, with something for everyone. Every dish we tried was delicious and clearly made with care. The staff were just as impressive — so friendly and welcoming. A special mention goes to Neve, a young girl who went above and beyond to make our experience even better. Her warm and attentive service really stood out. Overall, this place is well worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back!

We have visited often, but this time we brought someone new to The Plough. It was quite busy but we were served promptly and had time to chat. We ordered 2x meat pie and one scampi and chips. The food was perfect - melt in the mouth chunks of beef in the tastiest gravy and piping hot veg and chips. We couldn't fault any aspect of the meal - just a shame we had no room for puddings! We treated our staff to a meal out here and the whole experience was great. From the initial online booking, to needing to add another person to our booking. The table and bar service was great, and the menu had a wide selection which suited us all, and a good selection of draft lagers. I'd recommend this place to anyone, and we will most certainly be back again.
