Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithNot or first fantastic meal here and it won't be out last. Superb food, great service, great atmosphere and all on all just a lovely evening meal.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA fantastic meal - the food was outstanding and was complimented by fine service and nice drinks - wonderful. And we could book a table for the time we wanted. Our meal out was a great experience and we would highly recommend the pheasant Inn
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFood was excellent. Good size portions and wonderfully cooked. Service was friendly and efficient. Can't recommend enough.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent evening meal whilst staying at a local B&B. Welcoming and helpful staff, cosy traditional village inn.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithHope and Anchor has changed hands since we last visited from Scotland and I wouldn't recommend to anyone anywhere near this place . The owner is extremely unhelpful and this was reiterated by the people we spoke to in the area . Having tried 3 days in a row to get a booking and continually told there was nothing available we decided to book online and to our surprise there was plenty of availability online . Against our better judgement with a family of 5 and 3 kids decided to give it a go as we had promised to take our children out for a meal , wish we never bothered, sat in an area right at the bar and the service was shockingly bad from the manager , the other staff members where fine but the managers service was shocking, we waited an hour yes an hour for our starter then we must have been at least half an hour after the starter to get our main course , food was mediocre at best and very bland , portion size poor but we could've accepted that if it wasn't for the shocking service . Considering we tried continually 3 days in a row to get a table we would have expected better service than this , the manager wasn't interested seemed more about himself than the customers definitely won't be back next time we are in the area
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsGem of a place. We came for dinner. Great service. Great atmosphere. Dog friendly. And the best home made pie ever. We'll be back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeReally lovely meal, good service and lovely atmosphere. Really dog friendly too - he had his own menu. Would definitely eat there again.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeNice meal and good atmosphere. However we got there 15 mins early to have a drink at the bar... was told that our tabel was ready.. I said I like to have a drink at the bar first if possible. Was told by the lady it's easier to take drinks straight to the table.. she was a bit off to be honest... then proceeded to ask my 21 year old son for ID. Which is fine.. I get the risk around their drink liscense.. So we were sat at the table with our mood a bit dampened. The staff from there on in were very good.. just a shame about the start.... first impressions count and she was quite abrupt and stressy...
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThought we would give a try after seeing new menu on Facebook and we were not disappointed. The best menu I’ve seen around for ages.Everything we had was lovely and we were well looked after by I presume the manageress. Will definitely recommend and be back.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalA lovely atmosphere with amazing food and wine. The lamb and cheesecake were heavenly!!!! The staff were helpful, courteous and friendly. This was definitely a highlight of our holiday and we would recommend everyone to dine with them.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereYet another beautiful meal. Great atmosphere, fantastic staff it’s our favourite place to eat.
Sage and Vine – Carlisle5 star!
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalWe visited for Sunday Lunch. Both having the beef. I can throughly recommend this. Enormous Yorkshire, plenty of meat . Roast and mash potatoes.Carrot and turnip mash. Broccoli roast carrot and sweet. Friendly efficient staff. We will be returning .
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food and service and amazing atmosphere
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleBooked as family had previously eaten here. Both the starters and the mains were lovely. The only issue was one of our group ordered the lamb rump but received the lamb henry. Not a huge issue, we didn't even mention it to them and it was beautifully cooked. Will definitely eat here again when we next visit. The staff were very helpful and polite. The bar area is very small so difficult to get a sit if you arrive too early for your meal. Not too much of an issue for us as we took our drinks outside but not always an option if the weather isn't being kind.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFood was mediocre, we had to pre order as we were a large table yet still waited an hour between starters and mains. Kids portions were tiny one piece of broccoli as a side. chips were horrible crispy, greasy but also undercooked. Staff could have been better no one told us how to order drinks or dessert and we never got asked how the food was. wouldn’t rush back
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsHave eaten at the Sage and Vine quite a few times now and the food is always delicious. The menu isn’t very big which always means freshly prepared food . Having said the menu isn’t very big and someone that only eats seafood or vegetarian I find the choices on that menu brilliant and the house salad is delicious with the fresh made pizzas .So nice to see it busy and thriving.
