Fantastic meal and service. Couldn’t recommend more highly. So impressed immediately booked the following night and although full they managed to squeeze us in.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely beautiful fish sharing platter, gorgeous wood fired pizza. Excellent service. Would highly recommend. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe visited based on options provided by our guest house and with our sister in law and her friend who were doing the coast to coast walk. The food was nice but the service was the worst that we have experienced for a long time with the staff seemingly happy to chat to certain tables while ignoring a lot of others who were clearly waiting to order or ask for the bill. The food was ok when it arrived and tasted nice but were small portions compared with the two other establishments without providing any obvious benefit compared with others places that we visited in Grasmere but the poor service coloured our evening and so this was the only place visited where we declined to provide a tip. We will not return because of the service and and cannot recommend to others over the other options in Grasmere such as Tweedies and the Good Sport which were both excellent for food, service and value.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFound this restaurant online and reviews were excellent. Went for a meal on a Wednesday evening and the place was nearly full ,so i would book in advance. Staff were very attentive and the meal was superb , best we had whilst in the lake district and we had some good meals. Would totally recommend Grants if you are staying in the area , we will be back next time we are in Cumbria.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithExcellent meal and cheerful service as always on our annual visit to this area. Our only regret is that the choice of pies has reduced to just 3 since lockdown. Would not miss going for a meal at least once while up.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithLovely food, excellent service, will be back.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickMy wife and I had dinner on the 12th September We both really enjoyed our meals . The service was excellent as was the food quality.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickCosy setting, great service & most important of all fantastic FOOD.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickMy husband and I had a delicious meal here on the 14th as usual the meal wine and service was outstanding always served with a smile my favourite place to eat so inexpensive and the bottle of red goes down a treat thanks to all the hard working kitchen staff you all do a fantastic job never once had to complain and your sweets are to die for
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAn excellent friendly pub with a great reception from the staff. The pies were really good and the puddings were fabulous, the ladies inour party stuggled with the ham on the ham and eggs course, was rather dry. Other than that it was really good. We will be returning.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBrilliant meal. Well served and organised. We made a pre order as there was 12 of us and every meal was correct and gorgeous!!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFood was as you might expect: decent, tasty, no complaints, but nothing exceptional. Staff weren't as attentive as they might have been however - we had to wait a good 15-20 minutes for our table to be ready and we didn't get a hint of an apology, and when we first entered it took a fair while for anyone to look up from the bar and acknowledge us. Throughout the evening they became a bit friendlier, and it wouldn't have been enough to put me off returning, but it wasn't the best way to start an evening.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – Kendalprefect !!! Perfect food Perfect staff
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereQuality food, freshly made and served with a smile. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and very dog friendly. I took advantage to walk our dog Ralph up to Fairy Steps 50 years on from my last. We will definitely be back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeEvery time we come to Grasmere we eat at this delightful bistro. Never disappointed. Friendly attentive staff and well cooked tasty food.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOur first visit here after carefully looking at other roast options in the area and we weren’t disappointed. We found the staff very friendly and the Sunday roast was very good considering how busy it was. It’s clear that there was some love that went into the preparation. Would definitely choose this place again!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely meal, I had the Lakeland Pie and my partner had the Chicken and Leek pie with vegetables. Both were delicious and the staff attentive and friendly. We are here a year ago and we were not disappointed on our return visit.
