We had a lovely meal on Sunday evening. Food was very tasty and service was friendly and efficient. We had the beef pie and fish pie, which were very good. The children's menu had a good choice and was good value.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickAn absolutely delicious meal for 3 of us, far exceeding our expectations, with friendly staff and homely atmosphere. The Lamb Henry in particular was incredible. Will certainly return next time we are in the area!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis is our third visit and every time is as good as the last. Food excellent, friendly staff and great service.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSome of our party enjoyed the food (fish special in particular) but other dishes not so great. Ham and chips was gammon (or some other grilled meat) and was dry and tough. Chips obvs cooked twice. Veg curry didn’t live up to the menu billing (low on spice, heat and no protein) and had to ask for the naan which was a cold shop-bought effort. Halloumi starter was dark brown and very over cooked. So, pricey for a poor meal. Nice space though and the staff were very helpful.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalLovely pub in Cartmel, cosy atmosphere, great service and great food.
Pig and Whistle – CartmelOutstanding every time from the warm welcome as you enter to the service at the bar. Nice decor, amazing service and food. Highly recommended, five star all the way. It’s not very often nowadays where you can get homemade food served. Top notch bar staff, waitress and chef.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleLovely restaurant great atmosphere and food was amazing, would call again when in the area x
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGood hearty pub food in a lovely country side very dog friendly pub in the pretty village of Brigsteers. As we were staying in the village it was nice to walk here. We had the fish and chips and the homity pie. Both were good and huge portions. Friendly waitress served us making us feel welcome.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalBeautiful food and great service!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe always come here when we visit Keswick and once again we were not disappointed. The food was outstanding - so full of flavour. The service was great as well.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWonderful food made from scratch.Always delicious, quick service and professional staff. The chef in this Italian restaurant is amazing. We are visiting the place for quite awhile so we totally recommend it.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had two vegetarians in our group who ordered the Tofu Stirfry - it was inedible. We were on a walking holiday and had to eat though - I was one of the vegetarians and can honestly say I have never had such a bad meal... The garlic mushroom starter was ordered by a meat-eater and was 'okay'. Our son ordered the chicken nuggets and sadly had a vomiting episode an hour later though there may have been no connection. Service was very good and atmosphere lovely.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereStopped off at Lewis's on our last night, and oh my days, it was amazing. The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating as my partner wanted the vegan curry with meat (typical) and the surf and turf i ordered was heaven on a plate the steak was cooked to perfection the prawns was cooked in a crisp light batter that left a explosion of taste I will definitely return when ever I'm in Grasmere or the surrounding area and I suggest if you're reading this book now and thank Lewis later
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA Lovely hidden country pub. Staff friendly, food lovely and plenty. Would recommend
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalExcellent menu choices. Delicious food. Attentive and pleasant service. Right in Carlisle city centre 1 minute's walk from railway station. Reasonably priced. My 3rd visit and will definitely be back.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleVery nice food and reasonable priced for the quality of the food. The portions sizes were generous and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAbsolutely amazing food. It was our little boys birthday whilst we was there and they kindly put banners up for him. Breakfast was the best we've ever had
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalTbh This is the 2nd time we’ve visited the Bistro and we were not disappointed. As I mentioned to the young waiter everything was amazing and we will surely be back.
