La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe have been to the Wheatsheaf a few times now , it never disappoints. The food is great, staff are very friendly. We always have a good time when we visit.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalExcellent food and excellent service staff were totally amazing and made you feel welcome
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe happened to come across Grants whilst on a stay over on the way to Scotland travelling from Leicester. Originally we had booked the table for late evening but our circumstances changed and even though they were fully booked, they managed to fit us in if we agreed to vacate within a certain timeframe. They expedited our order to give us the maximum experience. The staff were very attentive and helpful and gave us recommendations for each course. The food was superb I had the Halibut it was lovely others had the turkey dinner and one had the garlic and Chilli prawn risotto. The puddings were superb the sticky toffee pudding and the apple crumble with damson sorbet was amazing. We really enjoyed all the food and the staff made it a great meal and even recommended where to get breakfast in the morning, which also was great. Next time we are passing we will be back.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithAttentive, unobtrusive service. Good value for money considering the quality of the food. Will be back before too long.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleAlways great food, great service, great value and great staff.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleLovely old country pub with classic pub food and warm cosy atmosphere.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithReturn visit and chose the same dishes as they were soooo lovely last time. Didn't disappoint. Accompanying red wine was perfect. Service excellent and friendly but not intrusive. A great Thursday evening. Highly recommend.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had the privilege of eating at The Pheasant twice whilst we had a winter break in Keswick. We had booked for Sunday lunch and arrived early so we could enjoy a drink at the bar. My husband enjoyed both the Pheasant ale and the Wainwrights. Our lunch was out of this world, beautifully cooked chicken, masses of vegetables, creamy mash potatoes as well as roast and Yorkshire pudding with plenty of gravy. We came back a few days later and had an evening meal, my husband gammon filled the plate and had 2 freshly cooked eggs, I ordered the venison bourguignon couldn’t believe how much venison I was served. It was tender and the sauce was rich. We were also served a bowl of well cooked hand cut chips and a plate of vegetables, On both occasions we were greeted warmly, service friendly and the food outstanding.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent night, lovely new place!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleExcellent food and service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat Xmas menu! Lovely atmosphere, brilliant staff! Will be back again soon!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAnother beautiful lunch at Sage and Vine yesterday for my fiancees birthday. We had the bread and dips followed by 3 small plates. The belly pork is to die for and the dips are amazing. Definitely our favourite and the best restaurant in Carlisle.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe ate here for the first time last week, and the food was amazing and well priced for the decent portion sizes. We had the Seabass and Chicken which were both delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient too. Unfortunately they had completely run out of their famous cheesecake due to closing the next day for the winter, but that just means we'll have to return!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBooked a table for 6 on Saturday 30/11/24 we was the only ones there. I was quite shocked because the food was the best in the village and so was the service a little gem of a place.Already booked for New Year’s Eve.John
