Yet another amazing meal at the best restaurant in Carlisle
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleService great, food very good....limited for healthier options, but then it's not advertised as one...buffalo crispy cauliflower was delicious.
Pig and Whistle – CartmelOur second visit to Sage and Vine and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first. A great welcome straight; away, lovely atmosphere, great quality food and enough to keep us veggies happy! We shared a beautiful spiced apple cake and ice cream after our fantastic pizza and sharing plates, which was so rich and tasty and finished off with probably the best cappuccinos we've ever had. Looking forward to the next visit.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleExcellent meal: freshly cooked, using good ingredients, with plenty of flavour. Lovely staff, attentive.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithExcellent meal and service on evening of Sunday 1st September. Tasty fresh food, nice surroundings, will return,
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHave visited the pub on many occasions so it was great to see the addition of specials to the menu, giving us more choice . The lamb shank was delicious and our friend enjoyed the pork chop Very welcoming and friendly staff Looking forward to our next visit
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalReally good atmosphere. My lamb was lovely and partners tofu very good.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe Nduja Scotch egg was probably the best scotch egg I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. Lovely burgers too. Small but uncomplicated menu, everything sounded great. The maple bacon old fashioned was a great twist on a classic. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. Well worth a visit.
Pig and Whistle – CartmelBeautiful food . Cauliflower and pork belly to die for . Decent Portions . Truest delight experience
Pig and Whistle – CartmelIt was a treat for my hubbys birthday and it didn’t disappoint, the meal was absolutely amazing good plateful the chips were best we have ever had, will definitely be back
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were really pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. All food was piping hot, tasty and home-cooked. We had the parsnip fritters to start - lovely fusion of tastes. To follow, the beef pie was excellent, fresh veg perfectly cooked and the chips were just how we like them. The service was very efficient and friendly. Space was a little bit tight, but not a major problem, and reflects the historical nature of the pub. Thank you Pheasant Inn - we will definitely come again!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickOur first and last nights in Keswick were here and the food here excelled both nights. The main attraction for us was the vegetarian options, that were interesting chef creations and balanced meals, NOT the inevitable burger & chips. Substantial serving of vegetables. Friendly service. It is 'pub grub' I guess and not overpriced gourmet, but is easily one of the best places to eat in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAll I can say is excellent service and excellent food. I have been here a few times and it is always amazing.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe all enjoyed great food, lovely friendly staff.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereWe enjoyed our visit to the peasant. We had a very pleasant evening. Food drinks staff were all great. We will definitely come back sometime.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickVisited on 2 September, 2 adults & our 4 year old. We ordered the steak & ale pie which was massive & served on a huge portion of chips with loads of veg & lots of gravy. The pie had loads of meat & the meal was lovely. We also had a steak with chips & sides which was also lovely & well cooked. Our 4 year old had fish fingers & chips which was a good size for her. Overall the meal was fantastic. We ate in the room at the front but habe normally eaten in the smaller room by the bar but it was lovely. We've eaten here a few times now on our visits to the lakes & always enjoy it. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. The only downside was that the resident dog Kookie wasn't in on this visit & our little girl loves to see him so she got upset he wasn't there but we explained it was his day off lol. Love this place
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalNice relaxed atmosphere and good pub food. I especially enjoyed the very dark meaty gravy on my pie, and had some very tasty "Dizzy blonde" beer. Our dog was welcomed and the staff were warm and helpful.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalExcellent service and well presented food, good choice of real ales. Just the place to have our wedding anniversary lunch
