Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe have eaten at this pub many times in the past as our friends live in the village. We have had many memorable meals but sadly this was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We eat on a Monday night - attracted by the offer of a third off the food - the pub wasn't particularly busy. No warm welcome from the staff - in fact no acknowledge as I was stood at the bar for a couple of minutes - we were then seated at our table with the promise that someone would be along shortly for our drinks order - that took 15 minutes for anyone to attend to us. We both ordered the rib eye steak - I ordered it as medium rare and was definitely medium leaning towards well-done. My wife ordered her as medium and was extremely well done. The chips on the whole were small and hard What disappointed me the most was the attitude of the bar staff - one in particular. I am not usually one to complain but when asked how our meal was and we explained - all he did was roll his eyes. Very disappointed in the whole experience - I am hoping it was very much a one off as usually we have had good quality food. Later in the week we eat at another pub down the valley and had a proper good meal

Farmers Arms – UlverstonLovely meal and service as usual. We have been 4 times now and every meal wonderful. It is better to book a table as it gets booked up.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThanks Callum for setting up and delivering delicious lunches for our group of 11 campanologists. Cheers

Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleA lovely lunchtime meal and excellent service. The beef brisket was extremely good as was the Homity pie. Have visited on a regular basis over the last 15 years and will continue to do so.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalGreat quality food - menu a step up from pub grub. I had the beef pie which was very meaty and satisfying on a typical British summer night!
