One of my favourite - and my family's - favourite restaurant. Food always tasty and good value for money - especially during Happy Hour, obviously! - and the staff are always so friendly and attentive. My 11 year-old grandson has had his last two birthday meals there and I'm not surprised because the food is so good and such a good choice. Plus the staff always make a fuss of him!

A gem of a restaurant in the centre of Carlisle. Always a friendly welcome. Staff knowledgeable about the dishes on menu. If you like to try lots of smaller plates, it's a great place to come. Woodfired pizza is delicious.

Popped in for a light lunch. Shared a pizza and salad which were excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly ,nothing is ever to much trouble.

This is a fine old pub with a friendly atmosphere and good service. We enjoyed an excellent meal there for our pre-Christmas get-together - they have a good chef!

A warm welcome received and great service given. We both enjoyed the Scrooge pie, which we had served with chips rather than mash. An example of how individual preferences are catered for.

Food, beer and service was usual high standard. Fully appreciate the financial pressures on the hospitality industry however, food prices have crept up to the level where as a retired person they are becoming unaffordable. Can I suggest maybe offering small plates so those of us with smaller budgets and appetite are able to continue enjoying this fantastic pub.

About the third or fourth time I’ve been here. Never disappointed. First time I’ve booked for a small group. All went very smoothly. Food, as it has always been previously, absolutely scrummy! Loved my own food choices but also had food envy for others’ choices!
