Pheasant Inn – KeswickAnother superb meal. Exceptional food, great service, lovely atmosphere.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithThe Pheasant Inn is an excellent gastro pub. The food is to die for. Excellent quality and generous portions and a frustratingly wide choice ! The choice of beers would excite a CAMRA veteran never mind less knowledgeable punters such as our group. And look out for the table host , she's fun, witty and welcoming and sharp as a tack Don't mess with her!! The Pheasant Inn .. way more than pleasant in.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis was our second visit in three days which should tell you all you need to know. The first was so successful that it was a 'no-brainer' to return. The service was efficient and pleasant, the food was excellent and the drinks were very good. All the boxes were ticked. We will be back. Sadly for you and us it will now not be until this time next year, but then it'll be a date (or two).
Horse and Farrier – PenrithThis was the Greyhound Inn's first foray into Tapas and they certainly delivered. The food was well cooked, hot and served quickly. The menu was varied and portions really generous. We suffered that, for the smaller appetite, they offer a two tapas, as well as the three tapas menu. Left completely stuffed, and will be visiting again.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleReally impressed with typical South African service like we are used to. Food was really good and we went back 3 times during our stay at Pine Lake. Thoughrally recommended for lunch or dinner. Will definitely go back when in the area. All the best for the future.
The Tavern At Hale – MilnthorpeExcellent service wonderful food, I will be revisiting as soon as I can xx
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe go to the Lake District 2/3 times every year and always stop in Grasmere. One of the best restaurants in the village is Lewis’s Had an evening meal so many times and always get good value for money. Food is always good, and service is excellent
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereReally lovely pub, great atmosphere and top notch food. Excellent staff.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithAbsolutely fantastic food in a lovely country pub setting. Greeted warmly by staff who provided excellent service.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithFantastic evening lovely food and great service . Menu whilst not extensive gives a wide choice and everything was cooked fresh and very enjoyable. Definitely returning !!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA delight, lovely efficient service, excellent food [I had the lamb], friendly ambience. Highly recommended.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereService attentive and friendly. Food was nicely presented and of a decent standard but overpriced in our opinion for the quality achieved. Our starters were very nice (spiced chicken and souffle) but our mains (slow cooked lamb & cod curry) not quite as good as hoped for. Lamb nice but the gravy was bland and fondant tasteless. The cod appeared a bit overcooked but in a nice sauce. I also personally prefer to see table mats used. Tables without, have a bit of a cafe look and feel about them and this wasn't in keeping with this restaurant.
