Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWide choice on menu, beautiful presentation, fresh, hot food. Timely good service. Can recommend and will be back. Nice start to an evening at the theatre . Situation very good for parking,
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAmazing stay, the food was lovely, had an amazing roast dinner and apple crumble. The room was cosy and clean. The staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent food reasonably priced great atmosphere
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe go back a long time dining at the Wheatsheaf when visiting friends in Brigsteer it was always our stop off for coffee or lunch. Although they are no longer with us we still enjoy the 60 mile drive to the area. We had Sunday lunch yesterday and really enjoyed it served by attentive staff. We will still keep up the tradition and visit again soon.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAbsolutely super meal, Lovely hospitality and excellent service!!Will come again when we visit The Lakes but please next time use HOT plates!!! We wish you the very best in your New Home too!

Pheasant Inn – KeswickBooked last minute online, turned up early and the table was ready, very quick order for drinks and food despite busy half term Friday night. Very nice food, good choice. Would recommend.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad another lovely meal here. The servers were so lovely & attentive, really made it.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFirst time we have been to Grants , it was great, food was fabulous, lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe had a really friendly welcome and the wines by the glass were exceptionally good. My wife had olives and bread to start an absolutely massive portion! I had the scallops which were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked with as really amazing depth of flavour in the sauce. From there it went downhill, my wife had the prawns as a main - a small portion served in a couple of lettuce leaves with sweet chilli sauce which did not taste homemade, I had the lamb chops , they had far too much fat on which was not properly rendered and not very tender. The accompanying gereen beans were tough and the turned carrots did not cross the boundary between under cooked and al dente The ‘buttery’ Chateau potatoes ‘was a single pale offering not cooked through and showing no t an inkling of a crisp golden buttery coat. if a menu specified ‘Chateau potatoes’ that is what should be on the plate. The red wine and mint jus was slimy and unpleasant. I commented to the charming waitress that the dish was not how I would have cooked or presented it, so I’m somewhat surprised to be asked for a review ! We did not attempt the deserts,
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFantastic food. Cooked to perfection. Friendly and attentive service.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithLovely surroundings. Absolutely fantastic food and friendly staff. Shame the other table accepted my boys birthday cake when taken to them by accident. Didn’t spoil our meal though. Management and staff couldn’t have been nicer.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI wish we'd eaten at The Pheasant on the first night of our 3-night stay near Keswick because I would have eaten here on every night had I known how good their food is! It was very easy to make an online booking for our party of 4. Three of us had the venison bourguignon, which was superb, and the fourth loved the fish pie. There were plenty of vegetables too - can't stand places that only give you half a carrot and 1 broccoli floret but The Pheasant doesn't make that mistake. I couldn't manage a dessert but my friends assured me the crumble, which came with extra custard when requested, was delicious. No grumbles with customer service, which was good. We will certainly be back next time we're holidaying nearby.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSo when arriving we had to walk over to the area near the restaurant as no one greeted us at the door. We were shown to our table and waited 25 minutes before going over to ask if we could order food and drinks as we were forgotten about. However the food was very nice. After finishing we asked for the bill 3 times before we finally got it. Shame about the service but top marks for the food
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAs we stayed around the corner for a weekend away on my daughters 21st birthday I booked in advance as it was also bonfire night and spoke to a lovely lady. We arrived on time with a great table with a view of the street. The staff were so polite and couldn’t do enough for us and the food was excellent recommend for service and food.
