Costa Coffee – Whitehavenupon visiting grange over sands on a break we ventured to the pheasant inn as it was recommended to us by friends. i ordered the roast beef dinner and my partner ordered a fillet steak. the roast beef was delicious and cooked superbly. my partner enjoyed his meal and said the steak was cooked to perfection. although the pub was very busy the service was very good, when the food arrived you could clearly see why the pub was busy. a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a lovely atmosphere.
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-Sandsthat fish pie is one of the best in uk love the hint of saffron, and what a view from beer garden, real gem.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe always have a lovely meal at the two eggcups, the home made soups are some of the best we have tasted. We are always made very welcome by the owner. We think the best cafe in bowness, give it a try next time you're in the area.
Two Egg Cups – Windermerebest fish pie i have ever had the pleasure to eat. very cheery staff. The best pint of Jennings Cumberland in Keswick
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSticky Pudding!!! Wow. Wish we had the recipe.
Casa Bella – KeswickTop quality food, the steaks are particularly good. Toto the manager is very friendly and welcoming. The only downside are the chairs and tables which are a little small and uncomfortable (cafe style). The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. We revisit regularly and no complaints yet. Thoroughly recommend.
Casa Romana – Carlisle – CarlisleI have travelled all over the country and no-where is there a curry anywhere near as good as this one.Totally superb....
Eastern Balti – KendalThis place looks fantastic since the refurb! Very funky and slick for the Lakes.
Swan Hotel – WindermereCafe style and sounds French but the food is international and includes English dishes. Very pleasant atmosphere and not too expensive for good quality food. Happy to just do you just a starter if you're not too hungry. Town centre location with no parking.
Le Gall – CarlisleWe called without a reservation and the staff were very accommodating despite being very busy. The meal was exceptional and was worth every penny. The best meal both myself and I have had in years. The best thing I can say about this restaurant is that we will shortly be driving from Glasgow especially for another fabulous meal.
Rastellis Pizzeria – WindermereGreat food at a great town.
Maryport Tandoori – Maryportv good
Salutation Inn – Keswickstaff great 2 young lads great
Horse and Farrier Inn – KeswickI found the food to be extremely well cooked and presented. Getting a proper blue steak is a test of a real chef and my fillet was perfect The decor was contradesque with a very friendly ambience and service. The views from the picture windows of the ancient church and distant fells was priceless.
Crown and Mitre Hotel – Penrithfood and atmosphere were excellent, recommend the fish pie and tattie pot!!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickOverlooking lake Ullswater the view is beautiful. Unfortunately we ended up eating a main course with no vegetables not realising they should be ordered separately. Our own fault I suppose but maybe some guidance by the waiter would have been helpful here. I cant imagine many people want just the main dish on its own. Instead we were left hungry so if you eat here remember to ask for side orders too! Having said that, what we did have was very nice.
Brackenrigg Inn – PenrithI would like to ask one question why is this place not in the major guides. Its quirky its true but the food is excellent (simple and well presented) the wine list WOW service great unhurried but attentive, and lord knows you need to be unhurried if you are going for several courses. Some strange conbinations but they work and HOW.Everything was exemplary. The abiance has to be unique, one feels totally at home. By the way the bar is very well stocked. Choice of Brandies and Malts really good. We will be back soon.
