I’ve been to this restaurant several times now, and it’s consistently excellent. On my latest visit the service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was delicious as always – fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care.

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleStaying for a long weekend just outside Keswick the pheasant inn was recommended for Sunday lunch . Unfortunately the only time slots still available on the early afternoon sitting were 12 & 12:15pm. I think they do cater for walk ins but I would advise pre booking (But unlike me more than the previous evening). The pheasant is easy to book online. You can book a table in either the dog friendly or not areas of the inn. On arrival for our 12 15 booking we waited at the bar and a member of staff showed us to our table. We ordered drinks (local craft beers) and when they arrived we ordered two Sunday roasts. We had probably a twenty minute wait ,but it was worth the wait! The food was deliciously cooked and there was plenty of it ! I had beef the gaffer had chicken. Unlike some places the Yorkshire puddings are a cheap way of filling a plate. But these were balanced on top of the roast. Unfortunately we can't comment on the desert menu as we were too full! For the area I think just over £20 is good value. The staff are very friendly and even though it was very busy the chef took time out to ask if everything was ok Overall I would highly recommend the pheasant inn for Sunday lunch. But pre book to avoid disappointment!

Perfect again, staff so friendly and the steak pie was amazing!! We got a Christmas cracker and chocolate mints with bill which was a lovely touch. 1000% recommend this cosy pub.
