Visited here with my family including a young baby and all the staff and the service were excellent from start to finish and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful to us, and the food was really top notch as well with a really good range of options. If you haven’t visited here before you need to give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.10/10

Horse and Farrier – Penrith32 of us visited the restaurant as part of our golf trip to Carlisle. From the moment I contacted the restaurant 3 weeks before we received a very professional and customer friendly approach and experience. I liaised with Jane regarding menus and our choices of starters and mains in advance. On arrival we were met by Rachel and shown to an upstairs private room, which was perfect for our group. The team allocated to us served us with distinction over the next few hours and we had a great time. We will certainly be back.

Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe dined on Saturday the 18th October and we both really had a great meal . The staff were on the ball and very pleasant to deal with it was very busy and a good atmosphere in the restaurant. I got talking to the chef at the back of the restaurant over 2 nights we were there a very nice man he gave me some good cooking tips . I told him we dined at forest side on the Friday had a great meal there but if I am honest both me and my wife like the bistro better says it all really .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely delicious roast beef, served pink which is perfect. Lovely mashed potatoes and big selection of vegetables. Portions are very generous! First time I’ve eaten here but been for drinks before in the bar. It gets very, very busy here, I can see why now I’ve eaten there - the food is wonderful. I would recommend booking as I did. The staff are great, even when run off their feet they carry on with a smile. We were in the dog area which is ‘snug’ so the poor chap next to us had my dog (a big boxer) occasionally leaning against him, when he wasn’t lay, spread over the floor - thankfully he wasn’t bothered, they had a dog with them too.
