I've dined in most places in Grasmere, Lews's is by far the best in ALL respects. It is just pity it is not open every day. The food shows imagination and is very much value for money. Will be back for sure

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely gorgeous meal last night. Staff are so welcoming & attentive. Will definitely be back, thank you!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleLovely evening meal with friends, well looked after by the staff, and the food was excellent, one point to raise is to clean down the table, it felt sticky when we first sat down,
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHaving read some of the reviews on this place- I wonder what people want out of life- Some of you should go to MacDonalds or Kentucky Fried instead- that's the crap you should be reviewing .. We are from over 170 miles from Casa Bella and have been 4 times in 2 years- It has never disappointed either on very good quality food or service or staff attitude and it'll be the first place we book the next time we go to Keswick. If you want good Italian dining and atmosphere - go here-- that's why it's always full !!- make sure you book
Casa Bella – KeswickAnother wonderful visit to La Mezzaluna. Great atmosphere and food was excellent as always. Staff always friendly and lovely.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleSuper staff, great service. Excellent food, particularly the cheesecake

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAllways food at its best , great ser ice will be back
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAn outstanding restaurant with food and staff to match. We booked here while visiting the Lakes for my wife’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. Fine dining done exceptionally well. From start to finish, everything was flawless. The food was absolutely outstanding—each dish beautifully presented and full of flavour. The pork belly and Eccles cakes were superb, and the seabass was simply amazing. Every plate impressed. The staff were equally excellent—attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. We all agreed it was the nicest meal we’ve had out in quite some time. A truly memorable food experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe were looking for a dog friendly pub to have lunch on way back home after a holiday but off the motorway. Perfect pub for lunch, friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent, and lovely choice from menus.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sage and Vine from the first to last minute. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. I could not recommend this place more!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe have eaten at the Pheasant many times. Always good food and plenty of it. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. It's always the first choice for us.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe looked forward to dining here but there was a technical hitch in the kitchen which admittedly can happen anywhere. After ordering then waiting over an hour for our food we were offered complimentary nibbles which were very nice, thank you. We both ordered the lamb rump but unfortunately when it did arrive it was tough and very disappointing, certainly not worth the money.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHaving book a table for 6 people on the 17th June 2025. The gent who was serving drinks and booking you to be very rude it was like it was to much trouble. Having orderd our food it was a long weight for it to arrive and it was not that good. Some of us orderd puddings. I orderd a strawberry sundae and all it was strawberry ice cream with a bit of cream on top. The other puddings were apple crumble and there was that much butter in the crumble it was running everywhere in the dish. When we tryed to get another drink the barmen was to busy having a laugh and joke with his friends in the bar. Having used this pub the year before where we found it to be very good we where very disappointed in the service we received and the quality of the food served to us. How it is run now we would not recommend anybody to go here. Very disappointed customer
