Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleAlthough very busy we were greeted well and looked after very well by the team here. The food was excellent, the service very prompt and the atmosphere very convivial. We will certainly be back.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickBeen here a quite a few times during our 2 and a bit week stay, as usual the service and food was excellent, a few comments mention slowish service, but the food is cooked to order and piping hot, staff are friendly and the pub welcomes dogs. Will definitely be visiting again.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsVery friendly staff very courteous did not feel rushed food was delicious and water explained what it was
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleWe always have a meal here with our 3 children always has been good and service had been great with excellent staff we will see you in a couple of weeks x
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsAll five of us had a lovely meal at the Pheasant. A good range of gluten free food which is clearly identified on the menu. The duck was tender and delicious and the fish pie lovely. Would come again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad the traditional Sunday lunch which overall certainly was value for money. With the exception of the roast potatoes, which were not as crispy and fluffy as we had hoped, all the rest was really tasty and the portion sizes were really generous. Ideally we would have preferred a cauliflower cheese option over cheesy leeks, but recognise that as a personal preference. The wait to get the food once ordered was longer that we were expecting, about 40 minutes, but as the atmosphere was really nice and we were in no rush being the second sitting, it just made us appreciate the food more when it arrived.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA hidden gem. Consistently good on all fronts. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A varied menu with daily specials. Welcoming as a lunch or dinner destination or just for a drink. They always have a good selection of local beers.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithFood was hot, fresh and very very tasty. Service was excellent and very friendly.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithMy rating for food is due to the fact that, sadly, we never got our order. We waited & waited & finally, after 1 hour & 20 minutes of waiting the staff approached us . Our order got lost in the chaos and never made it to the chef. By this time, it was already late to go to a different restaurant. The floor manager, Chris, tried to make it right & offered us food that were already prepared for someone else. We took it as I was already hangry! Our compensation for all the missteps? A whopping staff discount of I think 10% or 15 % off!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickBooked for evening meal with the family after dining here on several occasions and it never disappoints! Absolutely outstanding food and outstanding service as ever...just don't go telling everyone or it'll get too busy.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food in a great setting served by friendly staff.

Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe went on Bank Holiday Saturday. The food was lovely but the service was very slow. We booked for 7.15 but didn’t receive our dinner until 8.25. Other later groups were served before us!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBooked for a celebratory Sunday lunch for my Mum's birthday. As the weather was good, we sat outside which was very pleasant. The Sunday roasts were fabulous with good quality meat and lots of veg. They even do mash which you don't see very often on Sunday roasts these days. Highly recommend and will be returning.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWent for Sunday lunch bank Holiday weekend, exceptional homemade food with great portion sizes and fantastic service, they simply don't do a bad meal, cannot wait to go back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely meal on a very busy evening - thank you for taking care of us so well x
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had a table booked for 7.30 on Sunday on arrival we were told that they couldn’t serve Starters just main meals. It was really busy so took a while to take our order and even longer to get our meal. To be fair the food was ok but the mash was cold and the lamb chops small and very fatty. We asked for some Red wine and was told they had no wine glasses so had in half pint glasses. It was a bank holiday weekend so was very busy but it was a shame as we won’t be coming back.
