The Sage & Vine is without a doubt my favourite place to eat in Carlisle, I have enjoyed every thing I have eaten there & loved the wine to go with the fantastic food. The staff especially front of house is so nice & friendly I recommend it to everyone who has a mind to listen!!!!

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have been visiting Keswick for several years and generally visited the pubs and restaurants in the immediate town centre. This year we decided to visit the Pheasant Inn which was an extra ten minutes walk. We are very pleased we made this decision. The food was very good value and there were some good options for vegetarians, large portions which were ideal after a day of walking. Very good beers from the bar and attentive service from the staff. We will definitely be making a visit again in the future.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were recommended this little Lake District gem, by friends who had experienced The Pheasant Inn. Our experience was amazing, a genuine old fashioned family pub serving real ales of quality and food that was exceptional, particularly our Sunday roast beef lunch. An plateful that most will fully enjoy whilst others may flounder, but the taste and quality were great. The staff at The Pheasant Inn were welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient, our wait for our meal was acceptable, bearing in mind the hostelry was full to bursting. We would certainly recommend you book a table otherwise there may be a wait for a table. Value for money, we would say yes bothe for drinks and food, this hostelry has now become a firm favourite of ours and we will be back ..... would be rude not to. Thank you, Team Pheasant Inn.

Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsNot as good was previous visit. Chicken was over cooked and hard. Vegetables mushy and overcooked. One of our pasta dishes was also overcooked too soft. Probably wouldn’t visit again. Gone down hill.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe are on holiday in flookburgh at haven lakeland. After looking around for a place to go for a meal we found this place. The food was great, very tasty and you actually got a decent portion, we then went back for Sunday lunch, which again, was lovely, fresh veg, homemade yorkies and roast potatoes ( no aunt Bessie's here) beautiful beef and pork. The staff are very friendly too. We already booked for next Sunday. I do recommend booking for Sundays.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeReally enjoyed our Sunday dinner for Father's Day. The staff were excellent, warm and attentive, and the food was delicious. Even with baby and dog in tow we were made to feel like no trouble and had a great time.
