Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe visited Baileys before the theatre at Buxton Opera House. The staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. There were 4 of us and we were shown to a lovely table upstairs. My husband and I both had the Baileys pie, which was venison. I substituted mash for the chips. Our friends chose the sea bass and a sirloin steak. The staff were friendly and helpful and recommended the wine to accompany our meal, which was a lovely Malbec from Argentina. All the meals were beautifully presented, hot and delicious. My friend said the steak was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe booked Sunday lunch at short notice based on reviews we'd seen and we weren't disappointed. A lovely roast dinner with a choice of 4 meats, a pleasant environment and excellent service. My roast lamb was cooked to perfection, succulent and tasty and the accompanying veg was delicious too.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonA very warm welcome from the staff on our arrival. The table set with a high chair for our grandson. Attentive service, beautiful meal quickly served, a good choice on the menu.We really enjoyed our visit, and will certainly visit again soon. We arrived at 12.30, having booked our table , it was quite quiet, but did get busy about 1.15, do advise booking if you are eating and want a nice table near the fire too! Fabulous place!!!!

The Two Hares – Glossop5 star
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe went for Sunday lunch at The Two Hares and it was delicious and plentiful! You'll need a big appetite though if you go for the starters and/or afters as the main was more than enough for us. Service was great and the quality certainly justified the price we paid.
The Two Hares – GlossopGreat pub with good atmosphere, will be back
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockSunday roast at The Two Hares is ALWAYS superb, the menu seems to have recently been expanded to include more tasty options. But there's so much more to this place. Paul Sykes (head chef) is my local food hero and his cooking is incredible. It's worth visiting at any other time to see his versatility. As the restaurant evolves through various refurbishments, it continues to be refined into a more pleasant dining experience. The recent addition of skylights has completely transformed the atmosphere for the better. The front of house staff also continue to get better and better. Especially Nadia with her infectious enthusiasm and positive personality. I know I have local bias, but I don't care, it's my favourite place to eat in Glossop.
The Two Hares – GlossopExcellent food, well-presented and at a reasonable price. Service was first rate.
The Two Hares – GlossopFantastic food and service as always
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe had a superb meal here last night! The staff are always so friendly and the food is amazing. We shared the mushroom pate with homemade crumpets, which was delicious, better than any other pate I’ve had! The cod in curry butter sauce was beautiful and my hubby really enjoyed his steak. A crème brûlée to finish off and a nice bottle of wine completed a lovely, chilled meal. The bonus for us is that the restaurant is dog friendly and it’s lovely to go out and eat top quality restaurant food and not feel guilty about leaving an important family member at home. It’s definitely going to be a regular place for us. Well done team Two Hares!
