We have been a few times now after being very impressed on our first visit. We're not local but really enjoy the area so take day trips and overnighters. A beautiful proper pub in a lovely setting. The service and staff have always been top notch, as has the food, we've enjoyed everything we've had thoroughly so far. We plan to keep returning.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockAbsolutely outstanding meal, menu has changed to small plates so we were skeptical but they were beautifully presented and tasted out of this world. I had the crab crumpets with the bean ragu, the focaccia bread and whipped butter were delectable. Thoroughly worth a visit you won’t regret it.
The Two Hares – GlossopWhat a great night! Amazing food, amazing service, the live music was a bonus which turned into the night's entertainment and resulted in us staying until last orders. Could not recommend highly enough, there's only one place I'll want to go back to the next time I'm in Buxton.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonA very warm welcome and fabulously attentive and friendly staff. Good quality food. Perfectly located for Buxton Ipera House pre-show meal.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonFood, staff and music were all fabulous. Definitely a great night out. Recommend for food and staff being friendly and accommodating. We will be back again.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonAwful vegetarian food this Saturday My wife enjoyed her steak - that's simple enough to cook Nice wine a t £50 a bottle Vegetarian food is underwhelming Cauliflower starter had little taste The cheese pie was bland and had no taste and was truly awful The veg it came in was more overcooked than my Mum does I complained and was offered £1.70 off being told that was all the manager could offer On asking to speak to the manger, who never appeared, obv not one present, the full price of the veggie meal taken off - not sure why I have to argue on this Very poor
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonA little disappointed on thisvisit, sadly. Always been very impressed with Baileys in the past. Greeted beautifully and taken to table, with a bottle of water, which is lovely. Waiter extremely polite. My husband had the belly pork, which ws fine, but not exceptional. I was disappointed with my lamb, which was apparently locally reared, but was lacking in taste, very bland. We had garlic bread to share before our meal and the portion was a bit meagre. My pud was extremely rich and yummy, but definitely needed a scoop of vanilla ice cream to set off the richness and stickiness ! ( speciality parkin)
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe had a very enjoyable evening at Baileys, a warm welcome, great service, tasty food and fantastic espresso martinis!
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe had a fantastic afternoon celebrating a birthday, the table was decorated lovely. The food was really nice and the little birthday cakes at the end were also a nice touch, the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend thanks
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldBooked last minute for Sunday lunch with the family and got to say it's one of the best pub Sunday lunches we've had. Staff were cracking with my two young sons, and the food was exceptional. Will definitely visit again next time we come to Brassington
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockGreat food, lovely service and atmosphere. Had a lovely Sunday dinner, very tasty and plenty of food.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWhat a wonderful night we had for my mother’s 90th birthday, the room was perfect for the occasion accommodating a big party of 35, everything was well organised down to pre ordering the food, and the service. The staff made everything run smoothly Thank you all for your hospitality The Hills, Bennett, Cox

The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWe enjoyed a fabulous meal and lovely atmosphere. The service was excellent and friendly.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe'd been looking at Bailey's for a while now and failed to get in as a walk in. We had a window seat downstairs which was great, the starters were lovely especially the Manchester egg, then I had the dirty burger which was massive but lovely. All round good vibes and friendly staff
