Great food, friendly service, and lovely atmosphere - despite the heatwave!

6 of us had a meal on Wednesday evening, all of us had steaks, each one came out perfectly cooked, food was excellent. The staff were all very friendly, the chap behind the bar was very knowledgeable about the different draft beers available. To top it off there just happened to be live music, Sonic Duo were amazing. We had a great evening, would definitely eat there again. Highly recommended

Excellent food. Went with friends for about the 6th Tuesday in a row for the £10 main meals. The sweets are delicious too.

A lovely pub, as others have said very dog friendly, excellent service and quality food, well presented and freshly cooked. We look forward to our next visit while in the area on holiday. I recommend this pub.

One of favourite eating & drinking places to go to in Buxton. Delicious food & well priced drinks. Fabulous Sunday roasts too. Great premises with a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, attentive, very efficient staff. Can’t fault them. Excellent customer service. Many Thanks

This is the 3rd wedding anniversary meal we have enjoyed here, this year being our 19th year! Cannot tell you how amazing the food is!! The small plates menu is amazing!!! As you get to try so much of the amazing options on the menu!!! 100% recc!! Doesn’t have to be for a special occasion!!! It’s fabulous value for the amazing food!! We will be back for a 20 year anniversary party!!!!

The service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. We were a group of six and the order was relaxed with no pressure and when we did order the food came in good time, all together and was delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit!

What a delightful pub - so much character. I was here with two friends for an evening meal after a long walk. The menu was extensive and the home made food very tasty. I had the soup followed by quiche , while my friends both had the mushroom bruschetta , then one had the burger and the other the chicken schnitzel. The portions were generous and we can all highly recommend this as a great place to eat . Very friendly staff, great service , good prices .

My husband & I had afternoon tea a gift from our daughter The Best afternoon tea I have had Great variety of sandwiches Lovey sausage rolls Delicious cakes We brought scones home as we were full up. Highly recommended 10/10

Visited again during a short break after a family gathering of 16 people 2 years ago celebrating my wife's 80th birthday. We weren't disappointed and everything was the same top quality as it was then. Nothing could be faulted.

We had afternoon tea which was lovely, one sweet and the other savoury. The only thing was that we were only 2 but could have done with having 2 tables due to the various items that were on the single table. Despite that the overall experience was really good, service and selection of food.

Excellent pub and run by such caring, enthusiastic landlords. It is super dog friendly and two as well as four legged guests are well looked after. The food was super too! What a lucky find on our holidays.
