Beautiful beer garden, lovely food and great service
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockHad Sunday lunch 5th July, was best one have had recently, tasty, food well cooked and pudding to share was delicious. Always a friendly atmosphere and definitely be returning soon
The Two Hares – GlossopWe visited the gardens on Sunday 6th July and ate at the cafe for lunch. The food was fresh and tasty and the staff were very friendly. It was also good value for money. We ate in the courtyard and it was all very lovely. Would highly recommend.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldExcellent food. Great atmosphere with live music. Waitresses we're great and very attentive.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonI reserved a table for lunch on Wed 1 July. We ordered two tuna salads, which took over 40 mins to arrive at our table, and they looked quite unappetising, a few lettuce leaves in a bowl with a huge pile of tuna mayo on top. There were flies everywhere in the cafe. We left most of our meal behind, as most of it was just tuna mayo and hardly any other salad ingredients, not a very nice experience.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldWhat a fantastic meal we had on Thursday night. Absolutely loved it all………the food, the service, the atmosphere, all amazing. We came here a few years ago and the food was great so we decided to come back again and it didn’t disappoint. Loved the banter we had with our waiter who was brilliant and very quick to attend to an issue we had with one of our meals. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return when we’re next in Buxton. Thank you all.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonI booked a table online for lunch at the cafe. However I arrived at the entrance no one was there to check in the booking and there was just a sign to say grab the menu and choose a table; the menu was nowhere near the sign; the staff just stared while I was trying to figure things out. This doesn’t work well for new customers. I then decided to take order a fruit scone and a latte while I waited for my friend to arrive and alas the scone was stale; however this was resolved by an apology from management, I was offered a choice of a refund or a drink as compensation and I chose the later. Both my friend and I chose the home made pie of the day which came with chips and that was okay. Fast forward we quickly forgot about the mishap when we entered the gardens which were absolutely breathtaking. I would rate overall experience a 4/5 . I would suggest no need for a pre booking from my experience and those of previous customer reviews.

Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonBeautiful place lovely food will definitely go again. My granddaughter loved the Afternoon tea
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldA birthday treat in the company of a very close friend. It was my first visit to Renishaw and to say I enjoyed the cards and quintessential afternoon tea would be an understatement. The gardens were an absolute joy, naturally flowing cottage plants gracing a very well architectured layout and well coordinated colours and blossoms alike. It's the only gardens I have visited on such a beautiful scale of beauty. Very pleasing to the eyes. The afternoon tea was sheer perfection, a generous serving of quality sandwiches and savouries accompanied by a good selection of sweet elicacies and a much appreciated large pot of tea for one and large cafetiere for one, very much needed with such a grand selection of edibles. We chose the sparking Renishaw Rose`, which tasted beautiful and refreshing. The decoration of the table made the experience very personal and extravagant, very much a pamper feeling from the moment you are seated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On what was a very hot day, they deserve a big thank you. This, I hope, will become one of my favourite places to come to, every detail was sheer enjoyment, thank you for making it so special for all your visitors.
