What a fabulous place. We were staying locally on a family holiday and popped in for a drink one evening and the garden was so beautiful and the staff so friendly that we booked a table to eat the next day. The food was spot on. I'm coeliac and I am so often disappointed with the options available, but the gluten free fish and chips was pretty much the nicest I have ever had in a pub. I wish this was my local!!! They were also super dog friendly which is always appreciated.

So good we planned our trip around coming back. We were visiting from Norfolk and first found Two Hares last year, we were so blown away we couldn't wait to come back. We were staying 35 minutes away, but it was totally worth the drive. Chilled but attentive service from Nadia, delicious drinks and food. The bread and garlic butter were INCREDIBLE. We both had the Roast beef, pink and tender, the carrot was cooked perfectly and lovely mash. Would have liked a few more roasties but I didn't leave hungry . The knives also needed sharpening. BUT they are my only critic's. If you are nearby you absolutely have to visit. Thanks again for a lovely time.

We were ignored on entering the cafe, a lack of a warm welcome. We had booked for the cafe but there was confusion as to whether that booking needed to be checked. We thought that a booking reserved a table but we were told just to find one ourselves. We found a table outside which had not been cleared and after a few minutes waiting for someone to do this, my husband cleared it himself and took the tray into the cafe, handing it to one of 3 waitresses who were in a group chit chatting not doing much. Food was good but we had to watch other people self clearing tables in order to use them. Staff need to be sharper in clearing tables down. It was a let down. Customer service was a bit below par which was a shame because the rest. Of our visit and house tour was lovely.

What a great end to our holiday, fine dining at Baileys Bar & Restaurant. My Pork Belly was the best that I’ve had for many a long year and my wife, a fish lover, enjoyed her Cod Loin. Service and presentation of the meal was good, and Oliver, who served us, was attentive without being intrusive; a friendly, helpful person entering into appropriate conversation. The only down side to the meal was the fact that the Buxton Pudding we’d ordered was actually sold out and it took quite a while to let us know and then to be served with the alternatives that we’d chosen, apart from that hiccup it was a great place to draw the holiday to a close.

Had a delicious meal, the meat was excellent, the wine (an English Pinot Noir) as well, the staff was very friendly - we‘ll definitely come back!
