We came here to celebrate my sisters 30th birthday with afternoon tea. The food was delicious but really let down by staff service on the day. We unfortunately had to ask three times for tea and coffee and then ask for milk. This was after over an hour of waiting for any staff to even ask for our order. Overall a very disappointing afternoon especially when we have been before and the service has been up to scratch. More staff are definitely needed to provide a better experience.

Excellent service and excellent food. We will be back next time we are in Buxton.

Lovely food and service. Very atmospheric with a lovely garden. Grand Pies. Superb fish and chips. Good wine list and a good price. Recommend.

We had lunch in the Rex Whistler room, which is a lovely, bright space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good - slight criticism that despite serving salad they had run out of coleslaw.

We had a wonderful Roast Beef dinner with all the trimmings on Sunday - it was absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and made a fuss of our GSP too. It is a very old and traditional pub and I would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent food and service. Great drinks menu and a cracking atmosphere rounded off with live music. Nice to see all the staff passionate about what they do. Will definitely be back again.

Had a lovely meal belly pork with Schezan sauce coconut rice & Chinese greens The Portuguese custard tart with coffee cream was delicious Would highly recommend

Excellent evening at the Gate Inn Great food and service from Paul and the rest of the staff It’s a great pub we have been going there for over 25 years The new staff who have taken it over has brought it to a another level The menu is varied lots of options the vegetarian and gluten free meals were very tasty

We were staying in the village and had 2 evening meals here. Both were tasty and well cooked. The pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the service from friendly staff was excellent. Would definitely visit again, thank you!

Had a fabulous meal at Baileys on Monday night. Would definitely recommend and will return next time we are in Buxton! The service is lively and friendly, food delicious and proces very reasonable.

Went on Tuesday with friends, had a nice selection on the £10 meals. Very tasty tandoori chicken.

First time in this restaurant, would definitely go back again. The food was delicious, expertly cooked and the service was excellent. We didn’t feel rushed and everyone was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommended this restaurant.
