What a delightful pub - so much character. I was here with two friends for an evening meal after a long walk. The menu was extensive and the home made food very tasty. I had the soup followed by quiche , while my friends both had the mushroom bruschetta , then one had the burger and the other the chicken schnitzel. The portions were generous and we can all highly recommend this as a great place to eat . Very friendly staff, great service , good prices .

My husband & I had afternoon tea a gift from our daughter The Best afternoon tea I have had Great variety of sandwiches Lovey sausage rolls Delicious cakes We brought scones home as we were full up. Highly recommended 10/10

Visited again during a short break after a family gathering of 16 people 2 years ago celebrating my wife's 80th birthday. We weren't disappointed and everything was the same top quality as it was then. Nothing could be faulted.

We had afternoon tea which was lovely, one sweet and the other savoury. The only thing was that we were only 2 but could have done with having 2 tables due to the various items that were on the single table. Despite that the overall experience was really good, service and selection of food.

Excellent pub and run by such caring, enthusiastic landlords. It is super dog friendly and two as well as four legged guests are well looked after. The food was super too! What a lucky find on our holidays.

Fantastic Sunday lunch with generous portions and delicious gravy too. Really great value and service / atmosphere was extremely friendly. Dare I say the best Sunday lunch we have had for a very long time.... :)

Simply our go to restaurant. yesterday was our 4th time there in 8 weeks. Everything on the menu is superb and they make the best Old Fashioned i have ever had.

Me and my grandma had a joint party here for our 18th and 70th birthday party and it was amazing. The followed all our requests and the room was decorated perfectly. All our guests enjoyed it very much. Thank you for making our event one to remember.

Absolutely gorgeous meal Sat night! Highly recommended. Only suggestion would be to add a cheese board to the menu for those of us trying to reduce our sugar intake!

We recently enjoyed a sharing meal at The Two Hares in Glossop, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The standout dishes for us were the lamb and the whipped feta – both were beautifully prepared, packed with flavour, and clearly made with great care and attention to detail. Every element of the meal felt thoughtfully crafted. What really elevated the experience, though, was the incredible staff. Their knowledge of the menu was outstanding, and their genuine passion for the food they were serving shone through in every recommendation and conversation. It's always refreshing to be looked after by a team who are so enthusiastic and proud of what they do. The combination of exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a truly memorable evening. We would highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for a special dining experience in Glossop. We can't wait to return!

Our 3rd visit in 8 weeks and rapidly becoming a top 5 favourite restaurant of ours. The service is superb and the food is excellent. Good value for money and absolutely a place to take friends or recommend to anyone. Love it.

The table was laid out beautifully for afternoon tea to celebrate my husband's birthday. The many sandwiches, savouries and cakes were delicious. There was plenty of tea, coffee and hot water available along with drinking water. The service was great from all the lovely staff making our celebration really special. We will certainly be having other delights at Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe.

Another wonderful meal at Two Hares. There is such a wonderful atmosphere here. The food is incredible- highly recommend the butter bean stew! A massive shout out to Nadia who brings so much joy to diners and makes such recommendations. She was front of house on her own and still managed to make sure everyone was happy. She makes Two Hares!

Excellent. Great restaurant quality food at pub prices. Fantastic choice of good wines, the best wine I've had in a restaurant at £23 a bottle! Unbelievable service. Sixteen of us and hot food delivered to all at same time with no hiccups. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and even with sixteen of us I could hear conversations from the other end of the table. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Buxton then make sure you go to Bailey's, you won't be disappointed.

Great old pub, with very attentive and friendly staff. The food was simple but excellently cooked and served. There was also a good range of beers.

Good food in a traditional country pub setting. I would recommend and would definitely return when in the area again, Food and service was consistently good on the three consecutive nights that we dined at the Gate.

The food was amazing and our Waitrose was excellent. Love everything about this place and can highly recommend.
