We visited the day before Valentine’s so it was relatively quiet. Despite that the staff were friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere in this small gem of a tapas bar.

Lovely! I went to maritimo for a tapas evening meal for the first time on Valentine’s Day and enjoyed the experience. The food was beautiful and flavourful and everything you’d want from tapas. Me and my partner shared 6 dishes and desert and were pleased with the portions and value for money. Our servers were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning in summer to sit on their terrace with wine and some patatas bravados and paella! Would 100% recommend

Our first visit was for a Valentine's Day supper. Delighted to find the place pleasantly busy with a lovely atmosphere (and great Italian music in the background) even at 6.00pm. We ordered the T-Bone steak (Bistecca alla Fiorentina) which was served on a hot stone in best Tuscan stye. The meat was excellent as were the accompaniments. Excellent selection of wine and a delightful fruit salad with amaretto crumb and mascarpone to finish with perfect coffee and Limoncello. Wonderful friendly staff who were just attentive enough. An utterly memorable evening and we look forward to returning. Bravissimi!

Below is the letter I sent to Maritimo after our lunch there yesterday, together with their confirmation of our booking. "We came at 12.30 today. You had not kept us a window table and I felt disappointed and upset. My niece was over from Australia with just a day in Plymouth. I chose your restaurant to give her a view of the bay. As you will see below, you had no other bookings when we booked. I know you said you could not guarantee it; however, your downstairs window tables were free, although the room was cold. You should have reserved an upstairs window table for us and given the later bookings or walk-ins the choice of going downstairs or taking an inner table upstairs, which is the choice you gave us on arrival." Had a good lunch for four people. Pleasant ambience, service attentive We had the set lunch menu, and the choice and the portion sizes were generous. Altogether excellent for a local restaurant in little old Axminster. My only slight niggle would be the composition of the salad: red onion, over abundance of lettuce and scant baby tomatoes, and it wasn't dressed.

Even on a very cold, grey day in Axminster lunch at Belluno transported us to beautiful Italy. We all enjoyed our choices from the set menu, a glass of decent wine and friendly service from the team.

Great food at prices so low for Tapas I thought they had undercharged me. Wine very good and nearly all of it available by the glass. Friendly and efficient service. Look forward to going back.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s been great each time. I’ve tried various different things from the menu and they are always tasty, well cooked and generous portions.

We had a truly fantastic evening at our local Axminster Italian restaurant, Belluno! The food was superb – from delicious pasta dishes to perfectly cooked pizzas, everything tasted fresh and authentic. The service was equally impressive, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. A warm and inviting atmosphere completed the experience. Highly recommended for a wonderful Italian meal in Axminster!

The staff were great and very friendly, cannot fault that. The food was not good. 3 of the main courses were not available and therefore we both had the half chicken. Unfortunately they were over cooked and dry and without any real flavour, not sure about the pesto pasta with it, seemed a bit odd. The coleslaw wasn’t particularly nice. The best thing were the chips. Our first try here but won’t be back. The Ship up the road is a lot better.

What a lovely restaurant. The ambience is cosy, the staff are friendly and the food is superb. We were a group of 4 and I and my son in law had the Meze , my wife had the Beef Stroganoff and our daughter had the Kleftico. All were delicious and the portions were generous. We will certainly return when we are next in Plymouth.

We had a lovely Sunday roast yesterday, between the three of us sampling all the different meat choices. The food was lovely and very nicely presented so we will definitely be back

Absolutely lovely place. Enjoyed everything from start to finish. We had dietary requirements and the staff were incredibly attentive and ensured we had the best experience we could. Food was delicious and the portion sizes were great value for money. And a gorgeous view to boot! Will definitely be back and recommend to others.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here. Service was brilliant, everyone was very attentive. Food came out in good time. I had lamb skewers and hubby had the mixed grill. Both were absolutely amazing. Would definitely return. Thank you!

This unfortunately did not meet our expectations of a restaurant that has a gold Taste of the West Award. My mother’s meal of ‘slow cooked belly pork’ was largely inedible, our other two meals were adequate. The staff were very pleasant and we were not charged for the belly pork. A shame.
